Man Boasts About Giving Dog a 'Bath' in Washing Machine
Asia One ^ | Saturday, Sep 06, 2014

A man residing in Hong Kong has outraged animal lovers after he uploaded photos of a small dog being spun in a washing machine on his Facebook page.

Believed to be a Chinese national, the user identified as Jacky Lo posted 11 photos of the small white dog with the caption: "How to give a dog a bath really quickly: First soaked, then washed, and spun dry. Done!".

Those who saw his posts were shocked and further angered when he told a user that the dog was dead, and asked if she would like to see a photo of it.

The user named Agnes warned him that animal cruelty was illegal in Hong Kong, but was greeted with indignant responses. Instead of showing remorse, he said: "Why do I have to be afraid of you?". Lo also told Agnes that he was not afraid of anything, and that he did not even consider abuse to human beings a problem.

According to Apple Daily, the man made several false claims on Facebook, including the school he was from. A school in Tuen Mun was forced to release a statement clarifying that he was not related to the school after he claimed to be a student there.

The Hong Kong tabloid also said that Lo had pretended to be from a rich family by posting several photos of himself posing with luxury cars. When approached, the owners of the cars told Apple Daily that they did not know Lo at all.

Lo also uploaded a photo of multiple rolls of HK$100 bills, claiming that he had more than HK$10,000 to spend for just two days in Hong Kong. However, Apple Daily reported that the bills were likely to be fake as they did not have any serial numbers printed on them.

An expert the Hong Kong daily spoke to said that the dog would have probably suffered broken limbs as a result of being spun around in a washing machine.

An online petition calling for punishment of the teen has received 13,771 signatures so far.

In his latest Facebook post, Lo shrugged off the widespread anger against him, saying that he was about to return to the mainland and could not be bothered with the criticism made against him.

I think I’ll go with your explanation. The alternative is too sickening.

If he did this, not smart. I know somebody who got his arm mangled as a child messing around with the washing machine.

Oh, yes I think compassion is gone. My heart breaks and tears fill my eyes when I read about savages hurting our beloved pets. People say to me that they hurt people. I tell them that many people help people. Who cares about our pets who are just a misdemeanor animal abuse violation under the law.?

The link of yours had other pet abuses. See post 30 by me (I think). I can only take so much animal abuse stories a day. It seems to never end. I dearly love my pets. I get so tired of crying for the pain and suffering of the abused and abandoned animals.

I know how you feel.

I wish I could save every one of them myself but I have neither the room or the money to bring home every sad critter I see.

I help with several breed rescues and the horror stories are never-ending.

It can break you if you don’t ‘step away’ for a while to ground yourself.

Right now, I’m inundated daily with the savagery of the Spanish towards their hunting Podencos.

It’s emotionally overwhelming.

OMG I did not know what a Podencos was,,,,so I looked it up and found this : Spanish hunting dogs live their entire life on the brink of starvation, un-stimulated,
in dark spaces or tied up at short chains. They have hardly any human contact
and they get no affection. From this site for anyone interested: http://www.occupyforanimals.org/hunting-dogs—galgo-and-podencos.html I don't know what to say. I just cry.

They bring their barbarity with them when they come here.

This is Gypsy, a Portuguese Podengo Medio, who was dumped by her "owner", along with her sister in the northern California desert, to deal with starvation and coyotes.

It cost me over $1200 to pay their adoption/medial/travel fees, most of which was raised by like-minded dog lovers such as myself, via online art auctions.

She was rescued at about the age of 7 months but the damage done remains to this day.

Still, she is a wonderful little dog that I love dearly.

Her sister Darby lives with a friend in Omaha NE.

This wonderful woman, Beverly Farmer, rescues an astonishing number of Spanish Podencos and rehomes them, all over the world.

What she does is no less than a miracle and the woman is a saint.

Podenco Ibicencos [Ibizan Hounds] are what I have have had for 24 years and my most recent rescue passion.

Seeing the photos of them suffering guts me.

Of the 8 I have had in the last 24 years, only Djinni remains.

I had to step down from the club rescue committee or lose my mind.

I started donating art for auctions, instead.

I loathe the soulless Spaniards.

Anyone remember the Bonsai Kitties?

Reportedly, the FBI investigated in response to PETA's outrage.

What can be done? I love Dachshunds and adopt them. Now, I am in love with your Podenco Ibicencos [Ibizan Hounds]. Where does a person go to rescue one of these dogs?

Your best bet would be to contact Beverly Farmer via the link up ^ there.

You need to know that a securely fenced yard is *imperative*.

Podencos are hunting dogs that are extremely fast runners are high jumpers.

No amount of training will overcome their sudden desire to chase something.

Other than that one caveat, they are really great dogs.

:)
