They may get away with it in hard times, but most employers, of which I am one, do not want their best employees pissed off at them.

Does he believe for ONE SECOND that if employers stop offering healthcare that they will pass those savings along to their employees in the form of higher wages?

The long term GOP plan is to give the health tax deduction the employer now gets to the employee in the form of a tax credit.

Then the employee can use that money to buy insurance on the open market.

Consumer driven health care will drive costs down IMO.

Health insurance should not exist in the fashion it does. There should have been free market competition in healthcare, not price fixing and corporate government-medical industrial complex cronyism.

Now I can't find a doctor to sew a gash for $0.25 per stitch... not even the barber... or a vet. Set a fracture... I am not paying anymore than $20 for that. No, I do not want a CAT scan... I am paying for this.
