9/4-deceased
... there was an investigation before she died? Why do I get the feeling that people are just making up things?
How could these doctors not have been able to put a breathing tube down her throat...but paramedics could?
I remember several cases where nurses used this to murder people.
Indeed, you could say that.
Not to be a conspiracy theorist and realizing that she was elderly, doesnt it seem odd that she would die so soon after outing Mr. and Mrs. Obama?
We wouldn’t even know about these Propofol deaths if they were famous people. One can’t help but wonder how many people we don’t know about who die from this drug.
“As Joan Rivers prognosis grows more dire each day...”
My understanding is that her condition is now stable.
(I’ll miss you Joan.)
The old girl’s probably having a good laugh over the speculative and conspiratorial nonsense being written about her. She lived a long fruitful life and she died. We all die. Many die during routine hospital procedures. That is the way of all flesh.
They use this to sedate anyone for mild surgery
...my pacemaker last spring...
Its dangerous if poorly administered or probably for someone 80 something
In hindsight such procedures at her age best done near a good cardiac unit
Given the real estate there its no wonder outpatient stuff is just that
Lenox Hill is decent joint
I got sewed up there once after a race based brawl in 82...
I am sure after her recent comments on Israel there are many scumbags in Hollywood that are happy.
RIP Mrs Rivers.
Couldn’t they do a field trach? Cut open her throat and insert a straw?
Was the procedure a COSMETIC one??
This shouldn’t have happened. RIP, Joan.
Propofol becomes dangerous if the people administering it are stupid and sloppy. Its half-life is short, and when titrated on a mcg/kg/minute increment, it is very easy to "fine tune" the dose so as to maintain a level of comfort without depressing either blood pressure or respiratory drive.
On that note, best practice demands that a respiratory therapist be present to provide oxygen and assist with ventilation (using a bag valve mask) until the dose wears off. A bolus dose is also weight-based.
My educated guess is that too large a dose was given, that vital signs were poorly (or not) monitored, and that no respiratory therapist was present to monitor and assist with breathing.
If she's not dead, it wasn't fatal. Maybe they meant "fateful."
Is she dead??? If so, how could she have a “prognosis”?
At least Pastor Chuck thinks I was on to something.
