(laplata 2013) “You impress me as very Sanctimonious.”

You called me, “certainly smug” on another thread. Therefore, I am “sanctimonious smug” or “smug sanctimonious” - I have the courage of my convictions and stand by them - if you interpret that as “sanctimonious" and/or "smug", fine.

You are a newbie Romney promoter trashing conservatives on this thread - like the owner of FR and most of our members because we are not as liberal as you are. Your FR lifespan is likely limited.

I stand by my statement. Your response was very lame.

"I stand by my statement. Your response was very lame."

You and your buddies keep trashing conservatives and you will eventually not be here. Your posts 14 and 17 ties you to your two other friends, Lakeshark and entropy12 (entropy also a newbie in 2013 like you are), dumping on Freepers if they didn't vote for Romney. Here are your posts just on this thread:

"But there were too many “principled conservatives” who would rather abstain than vote for the better alternative to Obummer."

"Yes, it’s disgusting."

To Lakeshark

"Worse than disgusting, they’ve all got blood on their hands. The world is burning, our culture is burning, and they run around this site like they’ve got something to be proud of for staying home and allowing this despicable group to destroy America. It’s hard to understand that there are people who pretend to be conservatives that could have been that stupid, but they’re here parading around like peacocks, and in spite of their stupidity, they still shriek the loudest."

"You are correct. Sanctimonious fools or dupes. There are conservative “Useful Idiots”, too."

Lame.

Where is the proof that I’m a Romney lover?

End of discussion.

The ones who have blood on their hands are the ones who pushed Romney in the primary. FUMR and the RINOs you rode in on.

JEFFERSON’S WARNINGS!

In 1789 Thomas Jefferson warned that the judiciary if given too much power might ruin our REPUBLIC, and destroy our RIGHTS!

“The new Constitution has secured these [individual rights] in the Executive and legislative departments: but not in the Judiciary. It should have established trials by the people themselves, that is to say, by jury.”

The Judiciary of the United States is the subtle corps of sappers and miners constantly working under ground to undermine the foundations of our confederated fabric.” (1820)

“. . . the Federal Judiciary; an irresponsible body (for impeachment is scarcely a scarecrow), working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little to-day and a little to-morrow, and advancing its noiseless step like a thief, over the field of jurisdiction, until all shall be usurped from the States, and the government of all be consolidated into one.

. . . when all government . . . in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the centre of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another and will become as venal and oppressive as the government from which we separated. (1821)

Marcella,

Read all my posts before making wild accusations.

I will repeat a summary of my posts again.
In 2012 Romney was at the exact bottom of my preference list.
I supported Cain & Newt at the top of my preference list.
Cain had the best chance to beat Obama. But he dropped out.
Newt would have won if Santorum drops out.

Then we were given Romney. Only reason ROmney won nomination is because conservatives split the votes in primaries. I had to make a choice between Romney or abstain in 2012. Since I spent majority of my life in Chicago, I would never in a million years do anything to help Obama. If the GOP had nominated the dog catcher, I would walk over burning coals and shards of glass to vote for the dog catcher against Obama.

Observing how the country is doing under Obama, I feel thoroughly vindicated.

Now 2016 is straight ahead. Again, Romney and Jeb are not on my support list. At top of my list are Cruz, Perry and Rand. But against Hillary I will walk over burning coals and shards of glass to vote against her.

You may call me a pragmatic conservative.

Ok, now let it be.

But let’s make sure we are not left with that choice again.

FUMR!!

You may call me a pragmatic conservative.

You act more like a republican that's willing to vote for a liberal and DEMAND that conservatives vote for the republican liberal, too.

And you are more than willing to attack conservatives that WON'T vote for a liberal.

You do what you want with your vote, vote for a liberal republican, but I'm getting tired of being attacked because I won't vote for a baby-killing, gun-control, pro-amnesty liberal.

I can not demand anything from you. I am neither your boss or pay your bills. You are free to vote whoever you choose.

All I really want to do is to put forward my opinion that helping someone like Obama by abstaining is a very bad choice. Sometimes we must choose between a bad and a really bad choice.

I would be thrilled if either Cruz/Perry/Rand win nomination in 2016. I really would be disappointed if the nominee is either Jeb or Mitt. I can also support Walker or any other good governor such as from Indiana/Ohio/Louisiana.

I posted before I saw Jim had said "let it be". I'll let it be.

Attacking the people you want to vote a certain way almost never results in them voting the way you want.

You are certainly vindicated and what you did was absolutely and morally correct.

You are principled and are to be commended.

Still didn't do any good, voting for the liberal republican... you got the liberal democrat instead.

Liberal republicans don't seem to get elected for president anymore.

Vindication and 'feelings' aside. Pragmatic is going with someone that is electable.

Romney (obviously) wasn't electable.

The only way a republican candidate has a chance of winning the presidential general election is for that candidate to be pro-life, pro-2nd amendment, for strong border security, for privatized medicine, and for smaller government.

Any republican candidate that fails those tests will lose.

The more a conservative candidate runs on conservative principals, the better his chances of winning.
