Anyone ever had dogs & cats in your area acting like they're scared but you can't figure out why?

Several people in my area have noted that their pets are acting weird. The behavior usually amounts to staring out windows and doors whining and shivering and hiding under tables and other furniture etc. .

Or if they are outside they badly want inside even though they never do much any other time.

They also keep tails tucked and sort of slink around like they are in distress.

This is not one or two people but my count has over 20 different households within a ten mile radius that have pets acting in the same way for about 3 days now.

My dog can not seem to settle down and wants to be as close as he can get to me and the Missus. Some thought it is the festival in town but it just set up Yesterday and the behavior has been going on longer than that. And we had no such behavior last year reported.

We are all at a loss and the local vet has no idea but he tells us dogs and cats can sense stuff humans can't.

Time for a prep store check and water store refresh.
Two weeks: Water ,Food , Domestic supplies, Fuel: Domestic and vehicluar.
Better safe than Sorry, those Horses are detecting something.
We keep this as a permanent condition, it has been handy on many occasions. :)

I lived in Mass. for a bit of time and coyotes there kill cats and dogs when the opportunity arises. No going out before sun rise and not after sun set without us escorting. Nearby, we had a coyote take a small dog from a woman who was walking him on a leash. They can be very aggressive and strong.

We had a cat disappear and are pretty sure a coyote invited her home to dinner. She was a Hemmingway cat and not the sharpest knife in the drawer, bless her heart.

It got so bad that an American Indian man hunted down two and spread their blood and body parts surrounding the neighborhood. It worked. We became death valley for coyotes.

Mine is doing better. Either the issue that was making him edgy is gone OR he has gotten used to it. No reports from the others yet today.
