I never saw much of anything from Ryan Mallett. He reminded me of Drew Bledsoe (without as much talent) the way he would stand there like a statue in the pocket and hold onto the ball.

He did have a nice run for a touchdown in one of their preseason games. I just never saw anything impressive in him, but I was also one of those people saying the Pats should jettison Matt Cassel after the pre-season before Brady tore up his knee.

So I could be wrong. He might just need a different type of offense...he didn’t seem to grasp the New England one.

Nice! A hint of some Charlie Tango there...but it could just be my eyes...:)

As for the Texans, they have a pretty good squad, and...JJ Watt is a BLAST to watch play. Of course, I hope he always has a down game when he plays the Pats, but...that is one amazing football player.

The drive, desire, football intelligence and sheer physical power make me envious as hell...man, I would love to see that guy on the team I follow. Constant Beast Mode.

That is fascinating history. Thanks for setting it forth for FReeper consumption.

Wow, you saw more of him playing than I ever did! lol

I’m an Ark alumni and I had to endure the Sugar Bowl in 2011 (we were there) when we had the game at the end and he threw yet another interception.

Got to admit he made some good money pretty much coasting. The Texans have nothing to lose at this point!

Yeah, he was getting a lot of money to do practically nothing. I’m an Ark alumni, wasn’t thrilled with him and I was at the 2011 Sugar Bowl.

Heh, what kind of SAD, PATHETIC fan watches preseason games! (which is the only time I ever saw Mallett play...)

Well, I do. I sure do enjoy football. No other sports (except hockey) provide me much entertainment value, but I have fun with football.

Had season tickets for a while, that kind of thing.

Way back when Ed Koch was running in the Dem primary against Mario Cuomo for governor of NY, there was an unoffical campaign slogan..."Vote for Cuomo, not the homo!"

Now, with Michael Sam on the team, and Romo still at QB...endless possibilities present themslves..

Naw, Brady is too "girlish" for me and always comes across as acting like a little b*. Brady is right up Sam's alley however. Come on, he likes the effeminate type.

Agnew lost Baltimore County to Mahoney (47-39.6%), but he carried Baltimore City(!) 47-37%

Kooky. But Baltimore did have a RINO Mayor at that point, yes?

Yup. Ted McKeldin was wrapping up his last term (1963-67), but when Nancy Pelosi’s brother, Tommy the 3rd, ran the following year, he won in a landslide over the GOP nominee. Of course, Bill Schaefer (who succeeded Tommy after a single term) was probably more Conservative than McKeldin.

Allllrighty.

It's time for some picks!

Too bad she'll be disappointed...Seahawks 45, Green Bay 31.

And for the rest...

Saints beat the Falcons

Bears beat the Bills

Tennessee over KC, Smith isn't worth 68mil.

Minnesota surprises the Rams

New England romps in Miami, Brady's not done yet.

Raiders shoot down the Jets as Derek Carr repeats his brother's feat in winning the first game of the season as a rookie.

Eagles over Jacksonville, my pick for the bottom of the heap at 2-14.

Steelers squeeze one out against the Browns

Cincinnati over Baltimore

Dreadskins smoke the Texans

The Cowboys spread the 49ers

Carolina drowns Tampa bay

Denver deflates Indianapolis

Detroit spanks the Giants

and last...Arizona beats San Diego. They really did get rid of Drew Brees in favor of Phil Rivers.
