I can see Bruce Dickinson when he completely retires from Iron Maiden either being a schoolteacher (if the classics are still taught in England at that time) or as a tourguide through old battlefields in Belgium and France. He would be doing it strictly for fun.
No, Maiden doesn’t do too many radio or TV-friendly songs.
I heard “Aces High” on a New Jersey radio station once and I was (pleasantly) surprised. Honestly, I’d rather hear them than most of the garbage that’s out there- but I’m a complete history nerd. :)
The Billboard number 1 song the day I was born is still a favorite.

I rolled with the metalheads. They worshiped the ground Maiden walked on. I personally never saw the appeal of the music.
Dickinson sounds like one hell of a cool cat, though.
I was just never an Iron Maiden fan like I was never a Kiss fan.
To be honest, the only metal album I really loved was “Master of Puppets”. Otherwise, I was total poser. I just liked having long hair.

IM has a lot more, they actually sing understandable lyrics and a lot of it is about significant historical events.
Do not forget his collection of World War 2 tanks and Planes. I recall he has a Spitfire to.. This guy is brilliant.
Me to until I got older and started appreciating more of the Musical aspects of the old metal. I just like the long blonde hair.

Anyhow, a great band that has long ago cemented their place in rock n roll.
