It’s funny, old-time actresses I used to see (whose careers dated to the 1920s-40s) invariably aged into fairly nice-looking, normal, little old ladies. You don’t see that anymore. Thanks to plastic-surgery, the modern senior-class of veteran actresses all seem to look like strange mutants... stretched faces, deeply-dyed hair, and wearing clothes styles designed for girls in their 20s.
I totally agree. Yet again, I will blame the demise of the film studios and the strangle-hold the moguls had on their stars which kept them in line. They had no say in plastic surgery because there wasn’t much available (rumor has it that Marilyn had work done on her chin and nose) but they controlled the hair styles and clothes they wore.
In watching interviews on TMC, I still see stars like Jane Powell and Tippy Hedren looking like real ladies - not the mutants you describe. Katherine Hepburn looked like a normal person to her death!
Fie on bad plastic surgery and the surgeons who commit it!
