Obama likes to appear aloof-
He likely thinks he is cool
It just shows he hasn’t been
To any public relations school

He forgets that he is not king-
If this were 18th century France
He’d be as aware as Louis was
But he would have every chance

To be able to retire in Hawaii
Since he doesn’t have a friend
Who isn’t rich or famous enough
To save him from such an end...

I’ve been watching the people next door while unloading my groceries-they are the people who claim the cat they only come and feed about twice a month-the cat that lives here all the time-he was napping on the covered area of the cover of the deck, and wouldn’t even go over there to see them until the woman banged on a metal bowl and yelled his name-then he just stretched, yawned and took his sweet time ambling over there.

When the guy started messing with the lawnmower, he climbed back over the fence, while I waved cheerfully at his “owner”
and watched the guy swear and kick the mower because it won’t start at all and the sky to the west looks as if it will be storming in an hour or two.

She said the cat would not eat the food she gave him-stuff I would only feed to raccoons in winter-not the nice Friskies Sensations I feed cats-and I told her well, he knows that when he hears clattering in the kitchen, I’m feeding my cats and will bring him food directly, and she just said oh-I see.

I just now fed my cats their dinner then put a helping of the same food on the deck in a bowl-her cat came running before I even turned around-that cat has a change of address in his future when I leave here...

I see Jonah linked to the Crispi bacom story in his G File today. Good to know when we think alike.

We’re giving them one more chance. A new washer will be delivered on Tuesday. If that leaks, I’m done with LG. This is just nonsense. In the mean time, I have a puddle to clean up when I get home from work.
Grrrrr.

Make sure they do the installation themselves and not the house engineer this time.

To get to your “State” page you click on Account. Then you click on “Locale” and then you scroll down to your State, or country.

They did the installation last time. The leak is in their machine — not the installation. It leaks where their drain hose connects to the machine, not anything the installers did. This is a manufacturer’s defect.

What I want to know is since when does a washing machine fail to empty all of the water after the load is done? Obviously there was retained water from Tuesday’s wash, and it let loose when I wiped off the finger prints on the front of the pretty lid. I swear I didn’t even jiggle it. I just gently removed the finger prints (or finger marks as the Canadian and English detectives say).

Thank you-some people really don’t need to have pets, and the summer people next door are people like that. I’ll be happy to have the cat and bring him indoors-he is even neutered and dog friendly-I even asked the woman nicely for the cat some months ago and told her I would bring him indoors to be with my three and the dog, but she insisted no, no “her” cat is just fine outdoors and she likes having him there when they deign to come here-slumming, no doubt...

So I’ll just have to wait until I’m ready to leave, then put him in a carrier like the other three, and off he goes with us in the 4x4 to a happy nest and life...

The visiting band at the game announced that they were going to play some Italian renaissance music. And then they played the Rickroll song.

Best of Youtube videos was the theme of the show. Very good band.

That’s funny! Speaking of funny, we watched The Life Aquatic tonight and it was just not funny. I fell asleep several times and told the spouse I think it went on for about an hour too long. I love Bill Murray and our son said it was a typical Wes Anderson movie and that it was hilarious. I always want to like his movies and end up hating them.

Are you nice and cool now, and isn’t it great?

I headed out just at dawn for my usual hike along the river-I met a neighbor I often see hiking coming in the opposite direction and he said he had planned to hike to the park and hang out, but it was already full of summer people and ATV’s, so he turned back.

We walked in the opposite direction for a few minutes till an ATV with shouting people on it came by splashing along and scaring all the wildlife away, so we cut the walk short in disgust-he went to do work he’d brought home, and I went and did an estimate for a tile backsplash...

I’m glad this is the last weekend of residence this year for many of the summer people...

Pretty funny.

Capt Cod residents often stand at the approaches to the two bridges on Labor Day——and wave hearty goodbyes to the tourists heading home.

And I can understand that completely! We aren’t la-de-da like Cape Cod-this is redneck-and-ranch country, totally trashy compared to anywhere near Cape Cod-and summer people don’t contribute to the economy like real tourists do-but I’m guessing the ones that do summer at Cape Cod are just as rude and inconsiderate...
