I like Santana.
The rest, especially Springsteen, can go pound sand for all I care.

I’d agree, well about him being a singer, as a musician I can’t judge, but as a song writer I’d say he wrote some great ones. But, like I said, only up to a point.

“Sandy” is probably the greatest, it’s very ironic (maybe because I’m never sure what irony is) that that became the name of the worst storm to ever hit New Jersey.

But, it’s a very melancholy song, mostly about loss, so it’s appropriate.

I think this is the kind of article you write if you’re Donny and Marie’s manager.

A real talent, who has it all over Springsteen is Bob Seger. Great guy. Very underrated. BTW Seger has a new CD coming out on October 14th called “Ride Out”.

The whole article was made with the mention of how John Lennon dumped a beer on Chris “Let’s Dance” Montez, a former Golden Gloves boxer, who proceeded to whup Lennon’s woman beating ass up one side and down the other.

i loved "Let's Dance..." it reminds me of my cousins' garage bands back in the day... along with Wooly Bully...

Saw Bob Seger 3 times in concert at The Fabulous Forum in the early 80’s.

I seen him on his recent tours in 2006, 2011, 2013. He’s held up well. Can’t hit the high notes any longer, but he’s 69 after all.

I fully agree on that listing, ES. ...They may have surfaced during the R&R era, but their music was not R&R.

Personally, I prefer the Rythym & Blues and Doo Wop music much more than R&R.

Off-Topic — any new news about Bond 24? Start of filming, etc.

Is D. Radcliffe still looked at as a possibility for the villain?

“What did one Deadhead say to the other after the drugs wore off?”

“Man, this band sucks.”

LOL!!! I was once in a band that evolved into a Dead tribute band. My dislike of their music turned into an eternal hatred, and I left that band soon after.

I never did "get" the grateful dead and Garcia's guitar playing

The Grateful Dead belong on the all-time list of great hucksters. Look at photos of their concerts, progressively from the early ones. The tie-dye, cult-type fashion, the SanFrancisco hippie druggie ambiance, was skillfully and gradually filtered in. Providing an atmosphere where outsiders were the insiders made them a huge money making machine.

I'm not into drugs, never have been. I used to enjoy going to the concerts, straight, and taking it all in. The music was for the most part pretty awful. The crowd was like something out of Zombie Apocalypse. It was more entertaining and baffling than a circus performance.

Johnny Whiteside is a nothing burger. The guy wrote a couple of half baked biographies that have been widely panned online. Other than that not much. He’s basically full of himself and full of crap.

You may or may not agree with the politics of John Lennon,Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Carlos Santana but they are all important figures and have made a mark on the music world.

I still get up and boogey when Creedence Clearwater’s “Run Through The Jungle” comes on. :-)

Until this stupid article whoever heard of Johnny Whiteside?

I make my mark every day in the toilet bowl - and it's still crap.
