Heavy exercise (bike riding and mountain climbing) causing dehydration, followed by an 8 hour sitting session in an office chair, followed by three beers (causing more dehydration) then bed.
Stagnation + dehydration = blood clots = heart attack
To top it off, athletes have a lower-than-average resting heart rate, that can cut back on circulation and increase the risk.
(I’m just passing on information because I’m angry that NOBODY ever told me that these were risk factors)

Fwiw, telling a 20-year-old that something is a bad idea doesn’t do much good ...

Update for the list:
He has pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) and pericarditis (inflammation of the sack around the heart muscle).
Now they’re saying that he didn’t have a ‘heart attack’ but he had a ‘cardiac event’.
The difference is this. A ‘heart attack’ means that the blood vessles feeding the heart were blocked. A ‘cardiac event’ means that the heart is struggling and was damaged, but it’s not because of the blood vessels that feed the heart.
To a civilian, that’s not a big difference. It looks and feels all the same and the end result can be the same. Cardiac enzymes are elevated because the heart is damaged and in distress.
Apparently, it’s a huge difference the the medicals.
They still don’t know why.
