Amish Mafia.....
Oh, there were people involved? I thought they robbed the horse and buggy.
Oh, c'mon. You're not actually reading things and taking them at face value, are you? Why, you should consider suggesting that to our legislative and judicial branches for the next time they start blathering about the Obamacare clause that mentions 'exchanges set up by the state' so many times.
I'll take Anal Bum Cover for 200.
Suck it, Trebeck.
Stand and Deliver!
“Horse ain’t got no cash and the buggy is broke.”
That’s disgusting. I guess the perps realized that a lot of Amish don’t bank but deal mainly in cash.
And they don’t pack “heat”.
What is an Amish drive by shooting?
As one who lives in Amish country, I am surprised this hasn’t happened before. Every Amish business I know (ie. produce stands, wood furniture, etc.) operates on cash only basis. My husband commented one day when he paid for some goat milk that he hadn’t seen such a wad of bills since he was a kid watching his Dad buy farm machinery. The produce stand where we usually get our vegetables has a metal mail box with a hinge door into which people drop their payment. There is a bowl of loose coins for people to use to make change, if they need to do so. There is usually a person watching the stand, but they do not personally attend each sale.
STAND AND DELIVER!
Sadly, the Amish maintained and flourished in America because it was a Christian nation. They will become sitting ducks for the likes of the barbarians who discover how vulnerable they are. It’s happening more and more. I pray that God protects them, but I wish they would relent and carry weapons for protection. I don’t believe God ever told his people to disarm.
The Amish are using what means they are allowed. You won’t see many farms without a sizable dog population, that’s for sure. In our area the bishops seem to be liberalizing as I see many Amish using more mechanical equipment in farming, as well as even having phone boxes in the center of a community where they receive and send phone messages. Our goat milk supplier was able to be contacted by one of these phone message boxes. My observation is that they are having to accommodate to modern technology in order to be able to make a living farming. They also make use of contacts outside the Amish for automobile use. However, no compromise is permitted in the homes for daily living, which includes personal clothing and transportation to church.
