The clown needlessly injured a Cleveland player during an all-star game -- had he bet on that game? Is that why he felt the need for a hard slide during a mid-season exhibition game?
Heck, no. The guy deserves nothing.
And what if he ordered his pitcher to plunk the star player on the opposing team, because he had money riding on his team to win?

Plus, Rose owed his bookies over $200k. Bookies don’t like that. When you owe them, they force you to make decisions so they can make their money back. Decisions which run contrary to the integrity and the best interests of baseball.

You have priests and other clergy who molested kids, stole money, and have been racist hustlers.
Guys like Stienbrenner had legal problems with running the companies that made them rich enough to buy into baseball franchises.
Then there are the players who on virtually every team took drugs of one type or another.

Many of the greatest players in the “Hall” were severely lacking in integrity, sportsmanshiop character etc.

For the record:
Pete gambled on baseball games after he had retired as an active player. He was managing at the time...Rose never bet against his own team...
Pete Rose defined an era of baseball. Without him in the HoF, the Hall has a void from that era.
Pete has paid the price for gambling on baseball. It is time to include one of the greatest players of all time in the HoF.

He accepted the lifetime ban. Let him serve it first, and then we can talk HOF.
Ever since Pete Rose was banned from baseball for life, I have been unable to sleep, eat properly and untold stress has been put upon me. It is not for Pete Rose’s sake that I wish for him to be put into the HOF, but for mine.
I predict that that he WILL be admitted - within one year after his demise.
I have mixed feelings on this; you certainly must agree, that the ONLY thing that makes professional sports attractive is it’s honesty and fairness (OK, well, at least the perception thereof), and the league simply has to keep out even the faintest whiff of anything otherwise.
