Can we survive the people that elected him twice - that’s the important question.

Obama is just the symptom of what ails us.

You got it right: it is about the people who voted for him that we may not survive, as the foreign journalist said.

Problem is that the people are broken. I know for myself I don’t feel like I share values with a bunch of other Americans and no longer want to be yoked to them politically.

If there is a hope, it must be in the form of exceptional leadership. There are already plenty of exceptional people in the U.S.A., but they do not form the majority. Even so, if an exceptional leader became available, as with Ronald Reagan, that would allow some of the less gifted citizens to join a movement because they would sense that something good and big was underway. In that way, even though the good people are probably now about a 35-40 per cent minority, enough political capital could be accumulated to reverse the situation.

So where to find such a person? I’m not too sure that the person is known (yet) although I remain hopeful that it could be Sarah Palin or possibly Ted Cruz. The challenges will be enormous — it won’t be just a case of repairing the damage of Obama’s destructive reign, but also evidently confronting a particularly menacing situation developing in the Islamic world.

Frankly, I believe that this will all prove to be such a difficult task that it seems probable that the next step is not renewal of America but rather the coming of the Kingdom which even so may involve the renewal of America.

Obviously, there’s one leader who could manage this task.

Which gets us back to prayer ... but we can’t count on this as the solution, and should be ready to search high and low for that one exceptional person who can lead in this messy situation (two years down the road which is even worse to contemplate).

But don’t give up, America is not done. There is a lot of dead weight, and the need for pruning the dead branches. It has happened before. It must happen again. Where would the world find a nation to replace America? I’m speaking by the way as a non-resident and non-citizen of your amazing country. I know my country could not fill that void. There are other powerful nations but none that can blend power with the force for good and for innovation in the world.

And into that vacuum would certainly step forward a host of bad actors. In fact that is exactly what is already well underway and has been for about twenty years at least.

Yes, provided people are not too used to sucking the gubmint teats. Also, you will need at least eight non Obama years

We can survive Obama. It’s the increase of ammoral, indifferent, imported, leeching, population that could care less who Paul Revere was that worries me.

Exactly.

Can America survive Amnesty???

No. No it can’t. If Amnesty passes America is gone as founded. I do not see the necessary correction in my lifetime. I figure I have a good 60 years left in this body before I have to go stand before God. Obamatons outnumber me by a long shot. Heck...I pay my taxes. That makes me a minority.

I believe the question is whether we can reconstruct - I don’t think the US has survived Obama and it needs to be put back together again.

Obama has done so much damage, much of it cannot be fixed but in the long-term, if the next President is serious enough, he/she can restore the US and put it back on track BUT by then, ISIS will be approaching the Florida Keys.

IF Hilliary is elected, game over.

No, the US will not survive Obama. We've been dealt a mortal blow, although the country may spend a couple of decades on life support. The good guys have lost the culture; our borders are porous; entitlements are bankrupting us; terrorists are plotting large-scale attacks. I love my country, but I loved my Aunt Fanny, too...and Aunt Fanny eventually died.

You should direct your question to all the conservatives that refused to vote for Romney and stayed home in snit.

I really can't imagine us electing a truly conservative president, bolstering the conservatives in the House, and having not only a majority in the Senate, but one that is unabashedly conservative. Unless all 3 happen at the same time, we are staying screwed.

Obama is the symptom, not the disease. You can’t cheat an honest electorate.

Geographical separatism and a demand for autonomy seems the only answer.

Local leaders with the strength of character to turn away federal money and judicial interference.

Keep in mind that the end of traditional America is not the end of the world.

Then keep your negativity to yourself...Defeatists are starting to torque me.

You're whining too. Whining about a vanity in Chat. People sometimes need to talk about these things in order to gain enough courage to move forward.

Apparently you're at a point where that's not needed. Good for you. Perhaps you shouldn't stop to talk to those who you call defeatists because it will just slow you down. Wouldn't want your Superman cape to get caught on anything. ;-)

When the takers outnumber the makers. It’s all over but the counting of the bodies.

No doubt there will be tons and tons of bodies. Literal, physical bodies.

"If there is no hope, where do you think we should all go?"

There is no hope (other than a timely return of Jesus).
Since Obozo's "re-election" I didn't think we would make it to 2016 - not as we are, anyway.
Can't go anywhere - America is the last free place on earth.
We wait to be forced to resort to the ugly Plan B, which may or may not restore our Republic.
There are worse things than death.
