Navarrette: Don't be afraid of America's changing demographics
CNN ^ | August 18, 2014 | Ruben Navarrette

San Diego, California (CNN) -- For many Americans, the scariest phrase in the English language is "changing demographics." It's never easy to adjust to change -- especially when the thing that is changing is nothing less than the complexion of the country. America is being transformed before our eyes. In the early years of the 21st century, many white Americans are trembling at the thought that -- within three decades -- they'll be the minority in the United States. The demographic "doomsday" is about 2043, according to the most recent projections.

And the detestable Odungo will do his best to accelerate this process--removing America from Americans--as fast as he can, to serve purely of-the-moment political purposes. Never mind the lasting ramifications of this selfish action to the country. When you have this group and that group, whose principal allegiances are to whatever rathole country they just abandoned, instead of people who consider themselves AMERICANS first, regardless of their origin--you no longer have America. You have tribes. You have lost the "united", you are just a bunch of disparate bickering tribes living on the North American continent. Nothing great will arise from them again. Look at countries with tribal traditions. How many Nobel Prize winners come from them?

“How many Nobel Prize winners come from them? “

That’s the revealing question now, isn’t it?

(Basically, one page. Mostly political on the part of the Nobel committee. Yasser Arafat? Really?

Don’t fear an America where 100 millions people don’t speak English, where every park is turned into a fetid unlicensed flea market, where schools are crushed by ESL students, where bankrupted hospitals close by the hundreds, where taxes must be raised to record levels to pay for unprecedented social welfare payments, where non-Hispanic teenagers can’t get any jobs between illegal aliens and robots (actually we are just 5 years away from that), and where 30% of the nation’s residents are disloyal to America? Why should we fear such a thing?

Yeah, this country is sure better off, and a much better place to live, since the demographics of 60 years ago changed.

We committed cultural and societal suicide. Bad things are going to happen as a result of ‘changed demographics’ and we will have brought it on ourselves.

For many Americans, the scariest phrase in the English language is "changing demographics."

For this American, the scariest phrase in the English language is "race-card-playing amnesty pimp."

Bring on the change.

Right. Because a change from prosperity to poverty is always fair. A change from reason to impassioned violence is a great idea. Because everything that made American great must be cast aside in favor of everything that did not.

Keep the change, bub.

Latinos better be worried. Look at the lousy countries they came from. When they take over, the country will be like Mexico. Look at our border cities now, most run by Latinos. That’s what a Latino America will be like.

Anglos should begin preparing to immigrate back to the European countries their ancestors came from. If the Muslims haven’t taken them over.

Nothing is more stupid than prognostication. Unless it is prognostication written by someone at CNN.

The only thing is we've had this very argument before historically. Certain immigrants groups--notably the Irish in the 1840's and the Italians and eastern Europeans at the end of the 19th Century--were really poorly treated during the immigration wave, and I remember reading from American history a lot of Italian immigrants were blamed for a long list of societal ills at the beginning of the 20th Century. (Indeed, the eastern European Jews didn't fare much better; they got harassed by one Thomas Edison early in the 20th Century over control of the early motion picture industry--so much so that when real estate developers in southern California were advertising to sell land in this new-fangled place called Hollywood, the eastern European immigrants jumped at the chance in no time flat. Just about every famous movie studio in southern California were all founded by eastern European immigrants.)

A more recent example were the Vietnamese "boat people" that ended up in the USA in the 1980's. Disliked for various sundry reasons back then, today they are now a major economic force in California and could really wield their power in California politics soon.

Ruben won’t live to see it. His thick neck prognosticates a heart attack sometime in the 2020’s.

Reuben the Reconquistador has been cooing this BS into our ears for 20 years now.

“Don’t worry leetle Greengos, Ju will love being Mexico”

Right up to the part where the intimidation and extortion begins

PS

Imagine if mass numbers of Evil Anglo-Saxon Protestants were “immigrating” to the sacred Mexican Motherland.

THAT of course would be the Worst Thing Ever, and cause for war.
