LOL — I had totally forgotten about that. I haven’t looked at it in years!

:)

Actually, the correct name is “fisher”, but I’m guessing that almost everyone calls them “fisher cats”.

I guess I’m just too soft-hearted when it comes to critters. I grow sunflowers in the spring, just to make the local squirrels happy. And since I started doing that, their population has exploded. Unintended consequences.
But I’m going to try to help that poor little cat, even though the last thing I need is another cat. It’s not his fault that he’s an ugly tramp that nobody loves.

I don’t know where you are but there are veterinarians around who will take in a stray cat like that and treat it and find it a home. My brother was one such veterinarian but unfortunately he has sold his clinic and won’t be working there after next week.

As for me I would have to come up with the money to help this poor critter.

You're right...it probably has something to do with that minor league baseball team here in Red Hampshire. It is unlikely that fishers had anything to do with the feral cats, as their preference runs to rabbits and porcupines. Coyotes are more likely.

Probably, although we don’t have rabbits and porcupines on our property, but we do have fisher cats.

And for the bunny hungers reading, it’s legal here.

Everything you say may be true but the argument that they kill birds. Birds carry disease and the bird population is made healthier when there are predators. I root for the blue birds on my farm but I understand that the blue jays who eat them are important too.

“Aside from controlling the stray population, neutering a male cat at the proper time will prevent him from developing the spraying habit.”

And a female that goes into heat often has a very high chance of getting uterine cancer.

There’s lots of health reasons for fixing animals, on top of all the suffering that accompanies unwanted kittens (and puppies).

Glad to hear it. He doesn’t deserve to suffer. I hate to think of the life he’s had so far.

I adopted 2 ferals. I couldn’t let them starve. I tried to maintain they weren’t ‘my’ cats until the vet made me give them a name (for their charts). I guess once you feed them, get them fixed, get their shots, and name them - they’re ‘mine’. They’re good cats and are always on the back patio. One thing they love, especially in winter, is having a house to sleep in.

I was feeding birds until black bears showed up, breaking the bird feeder against the window like it was a pinata ;) Those unintended consequences....

find a different vet... a checkup and shots should not cost $200. My vet charged $40 to spay a female cat. Country Vet... not some nitwitty “let’s evaluate Fluffy’s Wellness Regimine.

You never know...he may just turn out to be an "ugly duckling" that turns into a beautiful and loving best friend that you will wonder one day how you ever got by without him! Divine appointments, they are called. ♥

I have three. The youngest is 28. I have a few grandaughters, though. They love the kittens.

Hi, Thank you for caring so much. Anyway, we live in a pretty rural place for New York state. Long story short I have several cats and a Doberman. A few years ago we took in a stray who had begun to trust us. I took him to be neutered to keep him and vet discovered Cat HIV. We had to put him down immediately. I had to have all 6 other cats tested, thank God all negative. I will never forget Miso. It broke my heart but I stayed with him until the end. The vet explained that although he seemed ok, he was very contaigous and as the disease progresses, the animal suffers awful.

Please be careful dont blow the chance to catch Red and get him staightened out. Stray cats live a terrible life and do not live long. Domesitc animals need us. let us know what happens....

I shoot strays.
My cat still got pregnant...

You might want to invest in a good night vision scope.
