Before Texas Governor Rick Perry's criminal indictment, before national attention turned its focus to the state capital Austin and Perry's 2016 presidential ambitions - Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg was arrested for drunk driving.
Lehmberg, a Democrat, is one of the most powerful prosecutors in the state. She had a blood alcohol level of 0.239percent - nearly three times the legal limit - when she was arrested in April 2013.
Jailhouse video shows her drunk, belligerent, threatening officers, kicking the door of her cell and repeatedly trying to pull rank in the Travis County Detention Center.

They left out “making terrorist threats”. If a five year old had pointed a finger at a cop and made a gun threat he would be imprisoned until he was 21.

It doesn’t matter. Perry was indicted and that smear will stay with him forever.
That’s the type criminal that she’s supposed to prosecute not be. I wouldhave asked for her resignation too. If she wouldn’t have resigned I’d have defunded her too. As the governor it’s within his rights to do so. She’s a D.A. for heaven’s sake. She’s supposed to lead by example...
With her level of booze consumption, one wonders how often she was inebriated while at work.

I told my wife a few weeks ago the Republican Party needs a smiling tiger for 2016. I thought of Rick Perry. Was let down in 2012, but think his poll #’s brought this drama on.
This will be the Alamo, where the heros will win.
