If that’s the sentence...then that’s the sentence and I’m on board.

But...it wasn’t the sentence.

Prison rape is evil and i suspect officially, unofficially condoned. Prisons are 100% control environment where inmates rely necessarily on the institution for safety. In fact prisoners are n the custody of the State, and everything that implies.

That prison rape and violence is commonplace and encouraged by many as extra judicial punishment is wrong.

That would cost the innocent taxpayer millions over the criminal’s lifetime. I prefer a Devil’s Island situation. Drop them off and don’t let them escape. Whatever happens, happens.

I’m sure that his attorney, if he has one in the lawsuit, will motion to suppress any evidence on why he was being held in jail.

If it is beyond the power of government to make neighborhoods safe for people who do not harm others, how is it that you came up with a notion that it is even possible to make life safe for violent people (many of whom should justly have been executed) to be safe while incarcerated together?

I guess it is good thing you have obviously not spent anytime in prison. The inmates run the prison, they determine who is safe or not, and they allow people to be hurt when they chose. Sometimes, the guards may intervene before something bad happens, but mostly they do not know what is about to happen. The government only manages who comes and goes, and government is in no way 100 percent in control of the place. Drugs, homosexuality, beatings, rapes, are just a few ways the inmates control what goes on. Guards are bystanders, and frankly, they are not paid enough to risk being hurt by intervening.

I am aware that inmates run prisons. That is the problem. A very ancient problem.

Hard labor at least can make prisoners economically productive and to worn out to start mischief.

When we resort to an eye for an eye mentality...we are headed for trouble.

Oh right, so when the muslims behead us, we should not kill them back. We should take our beheadings with dignity until we are completely annihilated and everybody gets to keep their eyes except us. That's what you just said.

He should wait until holder is out of office as he is the sleaziest lawyer around and would jump at a chance to assist him, they have a lot in common.

One of the rationales for government punishment is to do away with private justice. When the state develops a pattern of failing to discharge its responsibilities, folks are going to take up the slack.
