Report: Giffords, Kelly's Gun Control Group Now Pushing Temporary Gun Confiscation
Breitbart ^ | 08/15/2014 | AWR Hawkins

Americans for Responsible Solutions--the group formed by gun control proponents former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly--has issued a new report listing five ideas "to reduce gun violence." Four of the five revolve around temporary gun confiscation or gun bans.

The report begins with the fairly innocuous idea of to removing "loopholes" where they exist between states and the federal government regarding information on the mentally ill. But after that, the focus turns to confiscation:

Idea Two: "Authorize law enforcement to remove access to guns, with court oversight and plenty of protections to prevent abuse of this authority." The owner of the guns would "only" get them back once he or she was "no longer a danger to themselves or others."

Idea Three: "Require schools, including colleges and universities, to report violent or suicidal people to a court or administrating agency." These people would also have their firearms confiscated, but "could regain their firearms access...after a certain period of time."

Idea Four: "Allow courts to issue 'Gun Violence Restraining Orders.'" These result in temporary gun confiscation.

Idea Five: "Temporarily ban those who have been involuntarily hospitalized from purchasing or possessing firearms."

Well, if they say there's 'plenty of protection' against abuse, that's good enough for me!

Do they mean like the oversight and protections in place to prevent the IRS from abusing its authority? Well then I ok with this, because we all know how well that works.

“Americans for Responsible Solutions”. ROTFL! Kind of like Heinrich Himmler’s Health Spas and Beauty Salons during WWII. What a bunch clowns. I know Nazism when I see it.

I can think of about 40000 reasons this will not work here.

Well its only temporary and the folks would surely get their weapons back later what with all the oversight and all. Law enforcement would never abuse a law like this.

Gun violence restraining orders. ... Issued against anyone and everyone they think might become violent, right? Like anyone who is armed and who might oppose their fascist un-American policies.

What could possibly go wrong?

Castro also promised to restore everyone’s rights once order was restored.

I’m sure he will get around to it the day he declares order is restored.

It’s over 50 years you say.

Well at this point in time “what difference does it make”?

Here are my ideas for reducing gun violence:

1) Reintroduce the concept of hard labor as a sentence. And I mean serious hard labor - chain gangs, busting rocks, shoveling sand, making bricks, etc.

2) Make hard labor a “kicker” for any violent crime committed while using a firearm

3) Use the selective service registration to require 1 day during the birth month where registrants will report to an Army Reserve unit to update their administrative files, basic health check, class on call up procedures, firearm safety and basic first aid. Then issue a M-16 to the members of the selective service

4) Make it a capital crime to use one of the selective service firearms in a crime. 20 years hard labor for stealing such a firearm.

5) Take away weight lifting as a form of exercise from all prisons and introduce subliminal messaging and programming into the classical music played throughout the prison’s night time.

6) Allow any citizen who is not currently a parolee to purchase and own a firearm at there home/residence and in there car and transport between the two without the need for a permit of any kind. Same for ammunition.

7) Allow any citizen who has not been convicted of a violent felony to carry firearms openly or to carry concealed without the need for a permit or license of any kind (constitutional carry)

8) Create college scholarships (say 50% tuition) from the military for pistol and rifle marksmanship competition

9) A national “no duty to retreat” or “make my day” law that protects the shooter from both criminal and civil penalties

10) Require the NRA firearm safety program in all elementary schools

11) Require the NRA adult firearm safety program for any college student receiving a government backed loan or grant.

I know these have a snow ball’s chance but I can dream can’t I?

I think Mark Kelly-Giffords may have been deprived of oxygen during his trip to outer space. That, or he is the most p***y-whipped man in the country.

"Temporary!" - lasting for only a limited period of time; not permanent.

I have seen a lot of permanent 'temporary', ESPECIALLY where government is concerned!

“no longer a danger to themselves or others.”

How about we lock up people who are dangers to anyone, and not let them have *any weapons* while they’re there.

Consficated then returned after a period of time. Riiiiiiight.

“Ii you like your plan you can keep it”.
“if you like your doctor you can keep him”.
“you have to pass it to see what’s in it”
“the riot was caused by a video”

See a pattern here, Gifford? We have good reason not to trust ou or your real motives...

But hey, they are pushing this for our safety, right? :-/ Guns are dangerous, people who want guns are dangerous. That is their message. Well, I agree with them, but not the way they think. In their world only law enforcement, government agents, and a few hand picked personal security people (for those more equal people who "need" it) would have guns. Yes, this would be dangerous, when we can no longer defend ourselves. It is precisely because of people like them that I will never surrender my ability to defend myself. (And people like those making the news in MO right now)

People need to wake up. There are dark forces, dark ideas behind many of the things going on. No, I don't expect Marx or Stalin, or those fun guys from mid twentieth century Germany to come back and take over. But I am not so naive as to think the ideas, ideals, and temptations that drove them have gone away.
