He didn’t hang himself while seating.
He put a belt in the door jam and then slumped so that his weight caused him to suffocate.
His body then slumped into a position that looked much like he was in a seated position.
That is commitment and I can imagine his emotions so high and while crying his endorphins took over enabling him to strangle himself.
Just sad.
What I mean is how can you be in a seated position, with a belt around your neck, with the belt in a closed door, with one shoulder touching the door, and your body perpendicular to the door? Its like playing twister, so how can his body be straight perpendicular to a door? I need a stick figure drawing to visualize this. If maybe his back was to the door, then I guess one shoulder could touch the door and one would touch the wall on the same plane of the door - that would put his legs perpendicular. So why not say his back was to the door. But if just the legs were perpendicular the upper body would be parallel. Unless he was lying down, but they said he was in a seated position. Its guesome because he killed himself - suicide is always gruesome.

The one thing about doing it that way, however, is that you would have to overcome the urge to stand up which prevent the hanging.
The only other explanation would be that he was able to drop violently enough to break his neck which seems unlikely.
I wonder if he may have had Lewy Body Disease, which can cause Parkinson’s symptoms, and is sometimes misdiagnosed as Parkinson’s.

He could have taking sleeping pills. Not enough to kill him but enough to go to sleep with a belt around his neck. Thus he died in his sleep.
Lenny ODed. Some ODs are suicide but I don’t think in Lenny’s case. He was sprawled out on the floor.
There are photos of the covered gurney in Marilyn’s case and some photos from the morgue, but I don’t think any photos of her on the bed ever came out.
Her autopsy report was published in the sixties though.
Part of the controversy over Marilyn’s death is if the POTUS and AG could have a big Hollywood star whacked (or at least interfere in the investigation of her death and steal her diary), then anyone in America could be “touched”.
That is an angle I hadn’t thought about, thanks...I always analyze these situations for details.
Parkinsons would have destroyed his great abilities as a stream-of-consciousness comic...how sad. I guess it was just a bridge too far for him. :-(
I watched a short clip of an appearance of Williams on the Craig Ferguson show today...it was wonderful. They are both rapid fire stream-of-consciousness comics and they were at their best.

His wife said he was losing exercise abilities, which was what he did to fight depression and anxiety. And I think that was the end of the road for him.

Mick Jagger’s model girlfriend of many years (L’Wren) killed herself in the same exact way just a couple of months ago.

Apparently this is the new thing in suicide circles. That woman designer who killed herself a few mnths ago did the same thing. It seems you can wedge a belt into a door, then sit down and as long as you’re suspended a bit off the ground, that’s enough. Maybe it wouldn’t even hurt, if you put the belt around your neck and just kind of leaned in a bit at a time. You might just get hazy around the edges and then pass out. I would think it would take great determination, though.
