Why would any woman be with this type of person? It just baffles me. Not just this case, but the fact I have seen and dealt with this type of issue again and again. And again. Otherwise smart women, too.
I just don’t get it.
Meanwhile, I have attractive non-violent (unless called for to defend themselves or others) VERY successful friends who can’t get a date to save their lives.
Again, I just don’t get it.
Women won’t give a nice guy a second look, but will gravitate to the meanest piece of trash in the county.
The old "chicks dig jerks" thing. I don't understand it either, but it's still going on, as I was recently reminded when I met the girlfriend of an acquaintance's high-school age son. The girlfriend was charming, polite, and extremely attractive. The son was everyone's worst nightmare of a son -- did hard drugs and engaged in other criminal activity, unwilling to work despite golden opportunities, untrustworthy, would rather lie than tell the truth, a jerk's jerk. She thought he was Mr. Wonderful. You should have seen her beautiful big eyes as she looked at him! I later learned that their relationship was terminated by the parents after he tried to rape her.
I have to admit that when I read about male-on-female domestic violence statistics, "chicks dig jerks" always runs through my mind.

Me too, although it appears some women are hardwired to find “bad boys” more exciting. It must be some deep-rooted, primal, animal instinct.
