Long wait times for veterans to get health care can be cleared up in two years, along with investigations of employees accused of falsifying data to hide the problem, Deputy Veterans Affairs Secretary Sloan Gibson said Wednesday.
Gibson, who toured the Denver VA hospital, said his department has to change its culture to get employees to take responsibility for solving problems. Most VA workers are dedicated and know change is necessary, he said.
"I really believe that in as little as two years the conversation can completely change," Gibson said. Asked if that meant both the wait times and the personnel investigations can be resolved in that much time, he said yes.

V A ping.
For real or on paper?
There is a wait time to fix the wait times. Brilliant.
I say pull a Reagan, fire everyone involved in scheduling coverups and start over with a fresh crew and whistleblowers in charge. That’ll take about 3 months.
Amazing isn’t it?
bureaucracy runs so slow when it really wants to
Then, I say, make ‘em wait two years or until fixed to get paid (with NO back pay) THEN see how long it will take.
Fire every employee with ‘senior executive service’ classification.
Not demote,transfer, or suspend.
Fire them with out pension.
That should get some attention.
If they participated in the cover up they should be jailed.
An illegal or poor person can get an appointment tomorrow and get the care they need. To even consider making these folks from Iraq and Afghanistan wait is criminal.
