A teacher, who is also a championship track and field coach, is charged with driving drunk with her young children in the car. The Livingston County Sheriffs Office says they arrested Carolyn Garger after she hit a car and then crashed into a ditch.
The children in her car were under 15-years-old. Because of that, she is charged with a felony under Leandras Law.
The sheriffs office says Garger hit another car on Route 20A, just outside the village of Geneseo and then ended up in the ditch a little further east. The three kids in her car were her children. The oldest is in eighth grade.

That only applies to gun statistics, where children are counted until age 30.
C'mon, keep up.
I don't know much about this law but it is my observation that most laws named after children were knee-jerk reactions, hastily concocted, emotionally driven, poorly written and always full of unintended consequences that don't get discovered until long after the law has been passed.
Gun statics? She was driving drunk not firing a gun.
But don’t worry the anti gun crowd will find a way to use this too.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Yet another inspiring “educator”. Is there no end to their hijinks?
It appears not.
Uh, I don’t think you caught my meaning.
Never mind.
Probably because at 16 you can get a DL and take over for your drunk parent.
But as Stevie Wonder says “I’d rather drive himeself than ride with someone drunk”
