The lack of ability to detect odors is called "anosmia".

My brother has it, it has developed in the last couple of years, he's 76 years old.

A blessing sometimes but I'd hate to miss out on awakening in the morning to the smell of bacon frying, among many other great smells.

Sadly there is some research on the onset of anosmia as an early indicator of Alzheimer’s.

This is a fallen world. The prophet is not honored by the proud and the lost. Beware who you condemn.

Indeed! God has had His prophets do things which many would consider "strange", such as going naked and barefoot for 3 years, lying on one side for 390 days, then turning over to the other side for another 40 days, telling His prophet to cook all his food using human dung for fuel (relenting and having the prophet use animal dung instead).

I'm sure that many people at the time thought Moses to be weird when he told the people to put lamb's blood on their door posts.

Many more examples. God demands obedience, in all things.

I did not know that, I doubt that my brother knows it either. Thanks for the tip, I’ll talk to him about it.

Wale Olagunju takes after Mao Tse Tung. Mao rarely took a bath. He is said to get wiped with hot towels from his woman servants. I have heard they also used their tongues. Perhaps Olagunju has a similar fetish.

re: I would be much more interested in his prophecies than his lack of bathing habits, or his sleeping arrangements with his wife. What are his prophesies that he is never wrong on and are they of any use to the rest of mankind?

I agree. Regarding his prophecies, I went to his church's website to check them out. They are listed, though curiously, there are none listed from the 2014 and 2013. Most are from 2010-2012. Examining his prophecies, the majority are not of a spiritual nature. So and so will get elected. So and so will lose his job. The economy is going to get worse and corruption is going to get worse. The World Cup winner this year will be ... “Motor accident will claim some Nigerian citizens”. “Many notable Nigerians will die in the year 2010.” “As revealed to me by the spirit of the highest God, the United States President BarraMajor Al-Mustapha, Danbaba, Lt Gen. Bamaiyi, Col Jubril Bala and CSP Rabo Lawal will be released very soon if they do not die in custody before that time." As revealed to me by the spirit of the highest God, the United States President Barrack Obama should pray fervently to avert catastrophe". Frankly, the man's prophecies sound a lot like the psychic, Jean Dixon's. Remember her? I don't know if she is still around or not, but they used to publish her predictions every year in the paper. Her prophecies were mostly things that anyone could come up with, just like this pastor's. Saying that corruption will get worse in a country like Nigeria that is the Chicago of Africa is a no-brainer. You don't need a word from God to tell you that.

I don't know what is in this man's heart. Looking at his church website and looking at the “What we believe” section, the doctrines were pretty standard Pentecostal beliefs. From my own anecdotal experiences with Pentecostal and Charismatic folks, I know that a lot of them believe they have the gift of prophecy and claim they are constantly getting messages from God. “God told me ...... The Lord told me ...... God told me to tell you......” Frankly, I learned to take what they claimed to be as prophecies with extra-large boulders of salt. I believe that they were sincere, but deluded, taking the thoughts that popped into their heads as divine revelation. As for me, I will stick with what I know to be the Word of God, the Bible. I don't need to know who will win the World Cup!

I can assure you, I’m one of the Proud and Lost. I’m positive that if, after CW2, I have a Wiki entry, it will include the phrases war criminal, mass murderer, politically libertarian...
