how come we can't just upload photos to a freeps post?

Would be easier to upload photos to a post, like on FB for example. personally i struggle a lot to figure out the img src code.

is there a way to do this?

Frankly, I am EXTREMELY happy with the “antiquated” format. Loads fast, no gratuitous visual content, and ports very well to mobile, no matter how “bare bones” the phone

I don't know about the phone part, as I post only from my desk top but posting pictures and other simple HTML tasks is fairly easy to learn...............after all, I learned it.

Be happy, they used to send that crap spam by email, with FWD,FWD,FWD as part of the title. Years ago, I told my email contacts that I didn't want to get any of that stuff and that cut down on a lot of it, now when I get one, it gets deleted without being opened, no matter who sends it to me.

Glad to hear they are now doing this to face book, since I'm not on face book.

Local storage of photos on the FR site database would crash it pretty quick! I have seen people link to 1,2,3, even 5 megabyte images! Also, the added bandwidth cost to JimRob would be very steep! Remember the advice in prior posts to host the photo you want to post on a site you control or have permission to post on like “TinyPic” “Imgur” or “Flicker”. Directly linking to a photo on someone else’s personal site/server or business server is called “hot-linking” and is considered bad “netiquette”. If you expect deference from FReepers you're looking to the wrong crowd. I suggest YOU back it down a bit. No one on this forum is going to bow and worship. No one.

It's entirely possible that you have info and knowledge to share but your attitude precludes anyone from trying to have a pleasant conversational interlude with you as few can get past your ego. I honestly think that's a shame.

For your edification the word is FReeploader, defined as a person who takes advantage of and uses the resources of Free Republic without donating to aid in the support of the resources that the FReeploader is using. Sort of like it appears you are doing.

It is of interest that you seem to feel attacked by having that descriptive applied to you. Understand that in suggesting that you are a FReeploader, it is merely a rendering of available public data on donors to this forum, information that only YOU can change (hint: follow the prompts.) YOUR name is absent from any of the lists. Understanding that names are placed on the appropriate donor lists only with permission of the donor, MAYBE you have chosen to remain anonymous. BUT - your aggravation at being outed as a FReeploader is interesting, indicates that you have been stung by revealed truth, and, as you are fond of stating to others, shows an anger issue you need to discuss with your therapist.

Truth hurts sometimes. Again, deal with it.

I’m fairly sure this forum would be worth much more via that route than the freepathon way.
