Nearly a quarter-century after McDonalds startled and delighted Soviets with their first taste of American fast-food culture, the companys now facing a suit that could ban it from selling some of its signature products.
The Russian consumer protection agency said Friday it is taking the company to court for selling foods that contain more fats and carbohydrates than are allowed by national regulations.
McDonalds did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
The suit comes amid especially high tensions between Moscow and Washington over the Ukraine crisis; the United States has slapped an array of sanctions on Russia over its annexation of Crimea from Ukraine for allegedly supporting separatist rebels who are fighting in eastern Ukraine.

You deserve a borscht today.
Heavy irony in that statement.
Well, since McD’s is the only “ food” that causes me to ( instantly) barf, it’s caloric content is irrelevant to me.
Is it that bad these days? I haven’t been to McDonald’s in years — not out of a hunger strike or boycott, just haven’t had the inclination.
I used to be able to eat mcD. Now I can’t, although I can still handle Burger King and even Denny’s. I think ( don’t know) it must be some chamicals since the barfing reaction is so quick
In the early 1980’s there was a boycott of McDonalds being led by a black girl out of Austin because of their anti-white ads.
IIRC, she even got Mr. T to come out and say the ads were racist towards whites.
They backed off for awhile or at lest weren’t so openly anti-white in their ads.
I haven’t eaten anything from MD’s since the late 70’s and have no intention to.
