What are the Vegas odds NBC will discipline Dungy? Dungy is an outspoken Christian making him a target. Unfortunately his statement against Saint Sam might be the opening needed to get him off the airwaves.

Maybe they can hire Chris Klewe as their punter and Obama and Reggis will become season ticket holders.

The gay mafia is out in full force against Dungy. Absolutely absurd. Why would any team want to invite all of that attention for a guy who is a fringe player?

Wasn’t he also a seventh-rounder? Why bother—he’s not a standout on the field, clearly.

I am good friends with Coach Dungy. We texted one another about an hour ago. He is, without question, one of, if not the finest person, I have ever met in my life. I wish I was much more like him from a character standpoint. Truly a remarkable human being. I’ve never met anyone like him.

I have been in tough situations with him and his faith and steadfastness is remarkable. He treats everyone with remarkable respect. I would defend Coach Dungy to death. This stuff just ticks me off.

Ah yes training camp has started, now it’s going to be All Michael Sam, All the Time.

Wake me up when the regular season starts and Sam is gone (although there’s no way the Rams can cut him now).

Sports Illustrated’s nonstop coverage of all things homosexual ended my reading of their rag for good. It was just over the top with instructing athletes what they could not say, the fawning over the homo-izing of the Olympics, never ending.

Truth- it's the new hate speech.

Assuming Michael Sam makes the team, the first time he sustains an especially hard hit, there will immediately be speculation that he was “targeted.”

However, there are times when Dungy's beliefs -- especially as a public figure -- have put him in hot water with some groups. In 2007, he accepted a "Friend of Family" award from the Indiana Family Institute, a conservative organization, while he was the head coach of the Colts.

What???? How dare he have deeply held beliefs! How dare he accept such an award!

Dungy is a white man inside a black man’s skin.

Which would make him a racist.

Dungy is also a religious person, so, that makes him a homophobe.

Heck, he has to be an Uncle Tom, with all of his positions on the social issues.

Dungy just ended his tenure on Sunday Night Football.

The thing is, you can discount religious motives from Dungy for the moment. Hire any openly gay person and you are setting yourself up for lots of high drama. It’s already there in Sam’s case and pushed by Sam. They aren’t called queens for nothing.

The firestorm over this innocuous comment, which was, basically, that there are going to be many firestorms over innocuous comments regarding Michael Sam, kind of proves Tony Dungy’s point.

Why do we twist ourselves in knots to accommodate 2% of the population?

After the miserable scores he put in at the combine I wouldn’t have drafted Sam either.

God bless Tony Dungy. But he will get fired for not towing the official “I love homosexuals” line. One thing we know for certain he’ll not get a job at homosexual-loving, leftwing ESPN. Every announcer on that station would be right at home working for MSNBC.

Hasn’t Michael Sam already violated some league rules? Like selling his own merchandise and stuff?

If I was gay, I’d be running for president. “You can’t vote against him, you homophobe.”
