Another thing is that desert heat murders batteries....On all the cars we've had here in the Coachella Valley, we get around two years out of a "five year" battery -- the only good thing is that they therefore crap out under full warranty, so we don't have to buy 'em.
During summer, I don't even store any of my cordless tools in the garage; they come in to the A/C.
