Did a Russian soldier's trigger finger blow MH17 out of the sky. US says separatists would struggle

U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power told an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council on Friday that the United States cannot rule out that Russia helped in the launch of the surface-to-air missile that shot down a Malaysia Airlines jet over eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board.

Power said the U.S. believes the plane was likely downed by an SA-11 missile fired from an area in eastern Ukraine controlled by pro-Russian separatists. She said Russia has provided SA-11s and other heavy weapons to the separatists.

Britain's U.N. Ambassador Mark Lyall Grant, who called the emergency meeting, was more emphatic on assessing blame for the crash. And Ms Power it is likely that Russian military personnel were at the controls of the missile battery that downed the airliner.

New intelligence seen by the New York Times, suggest a surface to air missile on Monday shot down a Ukranian military plane from inside Russia’s borders – just days before MH17 was blown apart. It is possible that the same battery was then moved into Ukraine, where it shot down the Malaysian airlines jet liner.

He is a petty tyrant.

If only. As the elected leader of 140m bloodthirsty Russians, I'd say he's done Hitler one better - he's actually won an outright electoral majority. He's also got the largest nuclear arsenal in the world at his disposal. We are fortunate only in that, as an industrial power, Russia is a veritable speck and nothing like prewar Germany.

~You are a Putinist butt kisser. Putin is not arming Iran’s people. It is arming Iran’s regime.~

Are you a CIA station chief in Tehran and have your rat in the Russian embassy to know whom they are supporting or what?

These Russians and Paid Mercenaries murdered these innocent people and then ROBBED their dead bodies and then destroyed the evidence at the Crash site and stole the black box.

These Putin groupies defend , lie, and justify these soulless monster actions no matter what the circumstance using bizarre logic.

Putin and his Russians henchman in the Ukraine are pure evil and would snap these clueless Putin groupies necks and piss and dance on there dead bodies for kicks. It must be the living nightmare for the families to know these Russians robbed and abused these loved ones bodies and then left them to rot and then Shot at the rescuers . The Putin groupies here must be very PROUD of Putie and his thugs. Sickening.

He is a petty tyrant.

It's been just over 20 years since the collapse of the Soviet Union, roughly the same time interval as that after the Armistice and the resumption of hostilities in Europe. The one thing both periods have in common is the collapse of an ancien regime under foreign pressure, without any feeling by the loser's citizenry that they had actually been defeated, and certainly without any change to the "Germany/Russia over all" attitude that preceded the collapse. Russians seem to believe Gorbachev stabbed them in the back. When historians look back upon this time, it's possible they will write of a new Axis composed of China, Russia and its weak sisters, North Korea and Iran, and yet another war to end all wars.

Social media is too easily manipulated to be considered reliable proof, certainly not before an investigation into the cause of the crash.

The Ukrainian military has to be considered one of the prime suspects as they are known to have BUK missile batteries in the area, and have ‘accidentally’ shot down a commercial airliner before themselves.

An impartial investigation has to include a complete accounting of their weapon systems, starting with the specific missile batteries the Russians asserted were active on July 17th.

ps. all democrats are douches...including corporate ones.

You are a fantasist.

My admiration of Putin is ONLY rooted in the fact that he acts in the interest of Russia. I would like to have a President who acts in the interest of The United States.

You knew that. You are just being combative and furthering an argumentative position. Go soak your head.

Some question how fairly those elections were carried out.

As a neutral Russian who never voted for Putin I assure that at least 4 in 5 people I know has voted for him so elections were fair.

You say that social media is too easily manipulated to be considered reliable proof, but I have posted three different snapshots of Girkin's self-incriminating post.

In case you thought all three were false flag photoshops, I even linked the Google Cached page of the very same incriminating post.

Outside of social media, there are also three different Russian propaganda outlets that reported the downing of a AN-26 by the separatists just before reports came out of a passenger airplane missing over Ukraine. All of which I have already linked towards and which they still have up.

All of this clearly self-incriminates the rebels. Please tell me how the Russians self-incriminating themselves this badly and on so many different websites beforehand doesn't collectively constitute reliable proof that they shot it down.

To manipulate all that, you would have to assume that:

a)I'm posting three cleverly Photoshopped images.

b)Google is in on the conspiracy and deliberately archived the Photoshopped self-incriminating post.

c)ITAR-TASS was hacked or tricked into reporting a AN-26 getting shot down by separatists before Malaysia Airlines realized a plane was shot down.

d)RIA Novoski was hacked or tricked into reporting a AN-26 getting shot down by separatists before Malaysia Airlines realized a plane was shot down.

e)Life News was hacked or tricked into reporting a AN-26 getting shot down by separatists before Malaysia Airlines realized a plane was shot down.

To the FR Putin fanbois, your facts and evidence are just further proof of vast conspiracies against their heartthrob.

If elections were fair, how did Putin get 99.48% of the vote with 99.5% turnout in Chechnya in 2011?

That's impossible, unless Chechens really do love Putin after all.

Any admiration of Putin is ridiculous no matter how you rationalize or caveat it.

You knew that. You are just being combative and furthering an argumentative position. Go soak your head.

I lived two years in communist Poland during the days of Solidarnosc'. I also lived four years in West Berlin when the wall was still up and traveled many times to East Berlin. Google Arthur D. Nicholson, Jr., Major, United States Army. Don't give me your pro-Putin BS.

Your just picking a fight with me. Unless English is not your native language you cannot mistake what I said and what I meant when I said it.

Pro Putin? Really? You are either an idiot or picking a fight or don’t speak English. I don’t care which one, or which combination of the above is true. Bye bye.

Anecdotal information is worthless. The vote in 2012 was criticized by the Russian opposition and by international observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe for procedural irregularities.

We do know that Putin has effectively run Russia since August 1999. Medvedev was just a puppet.

English is my native language and I know the meaning of the word admire. Words have meanings. You need to look up "admire" in the dictionary.

Anyone who uses admire and Putin in the same sentence is a fool or a knave. You have no understanding of the nature of communism or the human toll it has caused. Putin was and is a KGB agent. He is bent on restoring communism to Russia. He is an enemy and no friend.

What the Hell you are doing on a conservative website like FR is beyond me.

LOL. I care less what you think and more about what you wrote about that KGB scum Putin. Silence is approval. I will not let you or any of your fellow Putin-lovers peddle your BS without challenging it—especially on a site like FR.
