No they said he was selling UNTAXED cigarettes. In other words the lefties didn’t like it that they couldn’t steal money, so they killed him.

Evidently the man was known to police for selling untaxed cigarettes, and he got upset when police approached him and began questioning him about that. His breaking up a fight earlier had nothing to do with it.
It seems to me like this is a case of the cops arresting a man on the charge of resisting arrest, if you know what I mean.
