It’s amazing to me how much our medical treatment evolves from the veterinary field.
I went on a tour of the Tufts Veterinary College a long time ago, and they had a cow there that actually had an opening into her intestine. It was a big, screwed cap about six inches across, and when they needed some, they just unscrewed it and dipped some out.
The cow seemed perfectly happy, but it was weird as hell to see that!
