FDA grapples with oversight of fecal transplants

Imagine a low-cost treatment for a life-threatening infection that could cure up to 90 percent of patients with minimal side effects, often in a few days.

It may sound like a miracle drug, but this cutting-edge treatment is profoundly simple—though somewhat icky: take the stool of healthy patients to cure those with hard-to-treat intestinal infections. A small but growing number of physicians have begun using these so-called fecal transplants to treat Clostridium difficile, commonly referred to as C-diff, a bacterial infection that causes nausea, cramping and diarrhea. The germ afflicts a half-million Americans annually and kills about 15,000 of them.

But fecal transplants pose a challenge for the Food and Drug Administration, which has decided to regulate the treatment as an experimental drug. […]

Most researchers agree that the FDA’s concerns are warranted. Patients can contract HIV, hepatitis and other viruses and parasites from fecal matter that is not properly screened. Additionally, there are no long-term studies on potential side effects of stool transplantation. …

I have read the same re:cows.

It’s amazing to me how much our medical treatment evolves from the veterinary field.

Is this recommended for Candida as well, the Bentonite clay?

Yes, it is, but it's also recommended to also starve out the Candida a little, or a lot, which means cutting back for a time on the simple carbs, e.g. soda, cakes, breads…white flower stuff generally.

Candida albicans originally means "glowing white" and waaay more people have it than they suspect.

You can also combine the Bentonite water with a spoon of psyllium husk powder --that stuff is great!

The key is to make a habit of hitting it, a little at a time, just keep chipping away at it and don't feed it the foods it really needs.

Starve it, bind it, flush it.

I went on a tour of the Tufts Veterinary College a long time ago, and they had a cow there that actually had an opening into her intestine. It was a big, screwed cap about six inches across, and when they needed some, they just unscrewed it and dipped some out.

The cow seemed perfectly happy, but it was weird as hell to see that!

Hahahahaha...washed down with a tasty draught from the porcelain goddess!

I am sure they find that water much more flavorful!

“Is this recommended for Candida as well, the Bentonite clay?”

Also Caprylic Acid. Pokes holes in the yeast bacteria.

I use this for leaky gut followed by Saccharomyces Boulardii probiotic. (UC)

Americans can also lose their health insurance and their doctors from fecal matter coming from Obama's mouth that is not properly screened...

But it’s a hopeful song:
Oh my candida,
We could make it together.
The sooner we go all the better,
Where the air is fresh and clean,
Ohhhhh

No wonder I’m so healthy. I get fecal transplants at work all the time.

Innovative, but I’ll bet it’s expensive.

Not terribly expensive, no.

Crunched-up papaya seeds, black walnut husk, probiotics, enemas, and exercise, folks.

If that sounds like a "walk it off" sort of thing to you, I invite you to exercise, eat ground up nut shells, and take enemas next time you're diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

Clostridium difficile causes very high white blood cell counts, severe pain, crippling colitis, and endless nausea. It can eventually lead to death.

Give it about a year and you’ll get the same results, and almost for free.

No, you'll end up deader than a doornail. "Dead" is free, though, I guess.

There are A LOT of natural, cheap stuff besides the above the kill of yeast, fungus and parasites quite readily.

Clostridium difficile can progress to something called toxic megacolon, which can kill the patient. Painfully, I might add. It kills around 14,000 people in the US annually.

Additionally, it isn't yeast, fungus, or a parasite. It is a bacteria. If you believe that any of what you mention can kill dangerous bacteria, please take a public pledge to never use antibiotics or any sort of anti-bacterial treatment ever.

A better (and quicker) solution is to take Dificid (Fidaxomicin). I have seen it literally save lives. Often folks have been cured in a matter of days. For some reason, few doctors are aware of its existence.

Bentonite clay does not dissolve. You can pour directly into shot glass and down the hatch. No need to dilute in anything. Whole foods carries it next to the probiotics.

Its a bit gritty. If you use bulk clay yes you do need to suspend in some water.

Re. Fidaxomicin

Is that a relatively new drug? My mother has been fighting C-diff for several months and does not seem to be improving at all. I think her current medication is Flagyl (Metronidazole).

I heard of it in Aug. 2012 when it cured a friend’s C. Diff in about a week. Four months later it stopped C. Diff in a few days for my B-i-L. He walked out of the hospital completely cured. His doc had never heard of it before we told him about it!

See:

http://www.dificid.com

Just noticed the FDA has approved it.

See:

Have her doc “Bing it” for more...
