This is the story of what happens in the mirror universe after Kirk & the others are beamed back to their universe.

Always been a big Trek fan, but wasn’t expecting much here. Whoa! Big Surprise! I rate it an A.

You made my point. The current owners of the Star Trek rights need to hire these writers. The Doohan guy would possibly make a better “Scotty” since he’s his son and all.

If they decided to make a new series with new Kirk, Spock and stuff.... they would probably put the kabosh on all these fan productions too.

The acting is so so because they don’t have the right voice for it. I see so many actors today who never studied voice which is so incredibly important. Take the guy who plays Spock for example: That’s an authority figure so it should be played by a guy with a baritone voice like Leonard Nimoy. If you’ll notice in the original series, almost all of the actors in that could have been radio announcers. Voice makes a HUGE difference and I see so many actors today ignoring that. They seem to think all they need to learn is emoting, which is absolutely baloney. As we have seen with B. Hussein, merely having a good tone to your voice is enough to convince most of the population to vote for annihilation.

You’re absolutely correct. Which proves how effing stupid TV and Movie producers are. There’s a lot of this fan production stuff that is completely brilliant in its writing, but not so much in production and acting. Some of the actors though are pretty darn good. Some of the Star Wars stuff is much better than what George Lucas ever did, which isn’t saying much really. Hello, Jar-Jar Binks?

RE: #26 Spot on. The Kirk character totally has the look but his voice is completely wrong. I didn’t notice it so much on the Spock character, the Scotty character was closest to the original. (Because it’s his son)

They spend tons of money to make shows a lot worse than these, I think it shows can be done on a small budget too

There was a Star Trek novel that I read years ago called I believe, ‘Dark Mirror.’ It had Captain Picard this time and it provided a history of the alternate Earth and the rise of the Empire. I enjoyed it.

How do they get around copyright? They must have a license of some sort. And those sets cost a good chunk.

RE: #26 Spot on. The Kirk character totally has the look but his voice is completely wrong.

Yes, what's missing is - and who would ever think that this phrase would ever be uttered in a million years - William Shatner's gravitas. Watch this video to see it in action.

Thanks! My inner geek is having a joygasm. I'm surprised Trekmovie.com or Treknews.net didn't post this already. I guess they're all still in holiday 'Beer me!" mode. I'm sure that Trek Movie Report will pin it up soon. Not that I'm dropping names (*AHEM*), but Chris Doohan and Bob Orci are a couple of occasional chat visitors there when something new to address hits the street. Chris posted me a link to pic of his dad working on his car a year or two back - it was funny seeing Scotty under the hood slinging a wrench on a gas-fired engine. LOL

I saw a few of those. They even got original cast members to reprise roles.

William Windom resolved what happened when he took the shuttlecraft into the Doomsday Machine.

Is that the full Axanar production or just the trailers?

I just happened across this a week or so ago, too. All I watched was the first episode, but I was favorably impressed. At first I thought it was another re- branding by the New Voyages / Phase II guys, but it looks like a separate effort. So far, so good.
