Did they eat a burger from either Ted’s or Shady Glen? If not, they hadn’t a great burger yet.
What burger in particular at McDonalds? A 79cent burger or the Big Mac?
DQ has a surprisingly good hamburger.
I’ll eat red meat only 2-3 times a month. Best hamburger chain by far is “Smashburger” using Angus beef. The “Buckeye Burger” is topped with fried pepper rings, haystack onions and other various toppings.
The Smashfries in garlic and olive oil is best I’ve ever had!!!
Yummy!!!! but lots of calories and fat so only 2-3 times a month.
Most have gone to quick-prep, where the burgers are pre-made, then taken out of a warmer.
Burger King used to boast flame-broiling as their selling point. But they, too, simply take a pre-made patty out of a warmer. Dry and tasteless.
DQ used to flame broil as well. I'd rate their burgers as the worst among big franchises.
Dave Thomas would be rolling over in his grave if he knew how crummy Wendy's has become.
Once again, "Hot 'n Juicy" has become rubbery and dry.
Don't get me started on the suckiness that Taco Bell has become.
Do you remember the original Burger King Whopper back in the early to mid 1970’s?
What happened to a real honestly great tasting burger made in the good family friendly burger joints.
I don’t like to admit it but my favorite burger now days is a Wendy’s double cheese burger with fries. I like it more than even In-n-Out burgers because of the cheese.
As a kid we used to go to Grandy’s for chicken, corn, rolls and ice tea. About a dozen years ago we tried it and the place was crap. The food and restaurant were terrible.
The other day my sister went to Denny’s and said the place was full of flies and they couldn’t choke down the (probably warmed up) food.
There does seem a marked decline in quality in a lot of these well known chains too
For some reason this reminds me of something my Father told me many years ago. He said the best sandwich he ever had was when he was on a troop train in WWII. They may have not fed them because he said when the train was stopped in Kansas City, a Black guy came by the windows with a cart selling pork sandwiches.
He got one and like I said, he thought it was the best one he ever had. I bet he was hungry too.
Consumers Reports. Most likely some meat hating leftist gay dude with an attitude.
“Id be surprised if the ketchup packs that come with your fries are necessarily supplied by the same manufacturer that supplies the ketchup that goes on the burgers.”
That would be insane. Keeping costs down means using the same thing as much as is possible. There is no reason to use different brands for 2 different foods.
And it still looks too red to be Heinz on the burger, too.
McDonalds is one reason that we now have so many porkers waddling around. It’s disgusting.
Del Taco? They started as a small taco stand in Barstow, Called Taco Tia, sold to the Hackbarth brothers in 1964 and chanded the name to Del Taco, named after one of the brothers. Have seen them sprouting up all over the country in the last decade.
ROFL
What is all this whining about Burger King on here?
FYI just hade a combo burrito at Del Taco in Boise this week, it was nothing like burritos sold at the little taco stand on 1st street in Barstow.
It’s not the calories and fat that you have to worry about.
Being the number 1 seller in the world and finishing dead last in some dumbass poll is proof only that there are so many burger snobs out there.
Like Yogi Berra (or someone like him) said: “Nobody goes to that Shopping Center anymore, you can never find any parking!”
I happen to proudly LOVE McDonalds burgers, and I am man enough to proclaim it to the world!
(OK, I’m pathetic, I know it!)
I tried Habit - the burger was good, the fries mediocre. Overall best is definitely In-n-Out.
I also happen to love McDonalds Cheeseburgers. I don’t really care if anybody else does.
