The gray Weimaraner was loose in a fenced-in backyard June 18 when he was shot dead by a police officer who was searching for a missing boy. Police said the dog was shot after he approached the officer in an aggressive manner.
The boy was later found sleeping in his home.

Why was the cop shooting at a dog in a fenced in back yard?

"Officer Brett Olsen, the shooter in the incident, had barged into the dog's yard at the time, while searching for a missing child in the neighborhood. He hadn't sought permission,
OK Police Chief is a moroon. Fire him and the cop that fired at the dog.

I saw someone say that no cop has been killed on duty by a dog in at least 50 years.

Has a single officer in this country been killed by a dog in the last 50 years? No. One by cow though.

I know it’s entirely possible for an enraged bull to kill someone...
but the stats said “cow”...
A cow could most effectively kill a LEO by being in the road when the officer was traveling at a high rate of speed.
