BY MELISSA LIN A Muslim woman who bought a pair of $279 shoes was incensed to find out, after wearing them for six months, that the shoes were lined with pig skin.
Administrative assistant Nur Najwa Abdullah, 43, is demanding a full refund from foot care chain Happy Walker, claiming that the sales staff had told her the shoes were made of calf skin.
Ustaz Firdaus Yahya, manager of the Darul Huffaz Learning Centre which promotes understanding of the Quran, said: In Islam, anything related to pork, such as the meat or skin, is considered unclean.
Islamic experts say while the use of pig-skin products is not considered a sin, a Muslim should go through a cleansing ritual if he or she has used the product.
LOL
So is pig skin lining a muzzie repellent? Lets line our aircraft seats with pigskin.
Isn’t this like chemistry? Likes attract?
Is there any way we can change our currency from paper to pigskin?
Or how about rather than flourish, we get some kind do pulverized pork bones as a mandatory additive to our water supply?
Surely we can come up with some effective cleansing rituals for her.
She paid $279 for THOSE?? Who she needs to be suing is her optometrist! Holy crap.
LOL.
They are some ugly ugly a$$ shoes
Caveat Emptor. Unless that store specifically sells halal shoes (or whatever the proper term would be), then ultimately it’s the buyer’s responsibility to make sure she’s buying what she thinks she is. Most shoes have an imprint somewhere inside them or on the tag that lists the materials used.
I think there’s a saying out there that basically says, if you’re not sure, then the answer is no, or something like that.
Really, though, this is probably buyer’s remorse. She bought them, decided she didn’t like them, and is now looking for a payoff.
Butt-ugly kicks, yeah, I’d squeal too. I think she got glasses since buying them.
Isn’t bone char used as a filter in water purification plants? We could make it all pig bone char.
I’ve got some lovely bacon-lined prayer rugs for sale.
I want a refund for the oxygen they waste praying to satanallah!
” a Muslim should go through a cleansing ritual if he or she has used the product.”
How do pigs cleanse themselves if they accidentally come into contact with a Muz?
Does that mean that Muslims cannot play football?
I’m betting the shoe store owner was Jewish.
Simple. They just roll around in slop.
Logical.
:)
Shhh!!!
Don't tell them what the glue on the inside flaps of envelopes or what Jello and marshmallows are made from. It's our little secret...
