Younger females are storming the North American box office to see The Fault in Our Stars, which took in a whopping $26.1 million on Friday for a projected $52 million-plus debut. That's a major victory for Fox 2000, which made the romantic drama for a mere $12 million.

Fault in Our Stars is trouncing Tom Cruise's big-budget Edge of Tomorrow, a sci-fi epic that cost Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow at least $178 million to produce.
The critically acclaimed Edge of Tomorrow did slightly better than expected at the Friday box office, earning $10.6 million for a possible $30 million weekend. That's still a problematic number, considering the movie's cost. Edge hopes to make up ground overseas, where Cruise remains a far bigger movie star.

My teenage daughters want to see the new X-Men thing.
Ahhh poor old Tom hasn’t had a hit movie in forever
I thought Edge of Tomorrow was quite good. It was like Groundhog Day but set in a war movie.
When is Hollywood going to make a kick-ass, epic bio-pic about George Washington? I mean seriously, it’s time to give old George the Silver Screen treatment. It would be divided into three parts: His early years up until the Boston Massacre; the American Revolution, and then his Presidency and death.
wow, guess ole scientology can’t cut it anymore
I’d give it 3.5 stars out of 5.
George Washington is featured in the Assassins’ Creed video game. He was a Freemason, you know.
Because they are too busy making movies about Trayvon Martin's death.
What's next, a movie about Sandra Fluke?
Anyway, Hollywood has money to burn, making movies that suit their views and fail at the box office.
You should check out the miniseries called Turn on AMC (I think). Very engrossing. Season finale is tonight.
Why the Tom Cruise hate? He is a nut and member of a cult but he doesn’t get political unlike most of the libtards in Hollywood. He just makes movies and keeps to himself. I would rather see his movies than Looney Clooney or even Tom Hanks anymore.
Also, Edge of Tomorrow was an extremely good movie. Probably one of the best I have seen in a while. Rotten Tomatoes agrees with a 90% rating. Not just a CGI blow em up action flick.
I loved Minority Report as well.
Agreed. Great movie.
“Oblivion” was pretty good. I’m looking forward to “Edge of Tomorrow.” Everyone seems to be raving about it.
Tom Cruise plays the same character

He needs to come out of the closet.
Sounds like a South Park episode ;)
Edge of Tomorrow is a fun, fun movie. It’s his best in for-ever.
Sorry I don’t pay to see Scientologists.
Fair enough. But who do you see?
