Obama works out with free weights like other girls I've seen at the gym who are only doing exercises someone told them to do, rushing through it and flinging weights around that are too light to do any good ( because they don't want to look - gasp - muscular like a man! As if they had any idea how much work it would actually take to look - gasp - that muscular.), and bored out of their minds. It takes focus and concentration to do a proper weight workout.

In fact, his workout is an exact replica of his entire presidency.
