While Scottish government draft guidelines currently allow teachers with moral objections to opt-out of certain aspects of the countrys new sex-ed curriculum, several National Health Service boards have objected to the opt-out clause. They are also objecting to provisions allowing parents to opt their children out of the classes.
It is extremely concerning that teaching staff would be provided an opportunity to refuse to participate in this particular aspect of the curriculum, said the board, one of the largest in the country.
Another NHS board warned against allowing parents too much influence over children, saying that the decision about whether to attend the classes should be left up to the students, even if their parents object.
Other health chiefs warned that teaching about the values of a stable and loving family life would be discriminatory, since not all children come from such homes, reports The Telegraph. Others also objected to the phrase both sexes arguing that it was problematic for transgender students.
Christian groups have criticized the responses from the NHS board. A statement from Catholic and Presbyterian spokesmen have accused the NHS of having the wrong priorities after noting the long wait times in emergency rooms in Scottish hospitals.
Scotland for Marriage told media that the NHS should be applying its efforts to solve the serious problems in provision of health care in the province, not using their influence to actively undermine the rights and consciences of parents and teachers.

Why would you teach sin to children?
And so it goes.
Of course they have to teach homosexual marriage in sex ed or family life education. Once we legalize this, then we have to teach it on the same level as we do traditional marriage.
Of course, we could discuss whether we should have sex education at all.
When you look at how rates of divorce, VD, teen pregnancy have all exploded in the last 40 to 50 years, which corresponds to the period in which we started teaching sex ed and family life education in schools, you have to wonder if any of it had any impact on anyone. Or if it had a negative impact. And society ends up paying the price.
What about a marriage between a man and his Scottish sheep?

Such a Marxist nut-topia will meet a horrible end. I hope they vote for independence, and subsequently see their economy tank further than it already is. This is the same nation that is actually planning to bring in a ‘monitor’ for EVERY SINGLE CHILD, assigned at birth by the government.
Any Scots not wishing to live under tyranny should leave now and bring their kids... to a free country.
I’m of the mind that sex ed was nothing more than a tool to deconstruct civilization. When anything goes, everything goes.
either they let me opt out or i teach what i want to teach about it.
i think they’d be better off letting me opt out.
Ah, for the good old days. The only “sex” education we got in school in the 60s was how not to catch the clap.
Sex education should never have been allowed to be introduced. It essentially gave the green light to promiscuity, that it was now acceptable.
Prior to the sexual indoctrination of schools, boys and girls typically grew up and married, then figured it out together without some bearded left wing hippie telling them about the particulars of bestiality and fisting.
All teachers should be able to opt out of teachings that they find objectionable if that objection is based on their Biblical beliefs.
They should not be forced to teach about Gay Marriage, Evolution, geology or biology if it conflicts with their Christian beliefs.
Yes, to an extent, and however awkward it might have been, it was 100000000X better than pedophile leftists who infest the sex education industry
Q: Why do Scots school heads wear kilts?
A: Because both the teachers and the students can hear zippers.
What ever happened to the William Wallaces of Scotland, those that risked it all for freedom, in the face of tyranny. Those lads would be so riled up to see this, they’d be taking the sword to their own.
How can teachers explain sodomy using common core???
This being the UK I’m sure there will be an exemption for the Muslims.
I’d be happy to teach about gay marriage, but I suspect the administrators wouldn’t like the points I present.
” The only sex education we got in school in the 60s was how not to catch the clap.”
I got a much better education on that subject in the Philippines, also in the 60’s. I also learned about penicillin.
“Others also objected to the phrase both sexes arguing that it was problematic for transgender students. “
Umm...I’m seeing a problem here, but it’s not the use of the term “both sexes.”
Where is William Wallace when you need him?
And by the way, if you can identify a free country where white people can live relatively unmolested by liberals and the entitled, please let us know.
