Since I didn't see any mention of federal funding concerning these lunches, I don't have a problem with "free" lunches financed by local / state taxpayers, free lunches ultimately determined by a state's voters.

Otherwise, the states have never delegated to the feds, via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for intrastate school lunch programs.

That’s not a “republican form of government”. The Constitution, by inference, requires the feds to prevent states from adopting a socialist form of government.

Just because some idiotic law is passed by a state legislature doesn't make it right.
