A hospital spokesperson says it was her understanding that Lewis was aggressive during the confrontation.”

I would like to ask that idiot spokesWOMAN if she would be happy and peaceful receiving such an insane ticket? I think the guy reacted rationally considering the outrageous size of the fine.

“Most in government now truly view the citizens, especially taxpayers as their enemies”

I worked with a public employee union for years and I can testify that your statement is 100% true. Especially if taxpayers do not want to pay more taxes, because they need more and more taxes to pay their wages, pensions and other great benefits. These public “servants” look out for their own livelihood first.

They will spend billions to recover the few pennies. His house may even be marked for envelopment by heavily armed feds. In the words of Harry Reid, famous for observing all laws, especially campaign finance laws, we can’t have citizens violating our laws and just walking away.

Years ago I was working in a retail establishment that had a snack bar up front.

We did not offer free refills. One day a customer, who was black, went over and helped herself to a refill. The cashier, who was white, politely explained that refills were not free and asked her to pay for it.

The customer responded by slapping the cashier across the face.

She then called for help. Several of us who were working security responded. By that time the two of them were getting into a loud argument.

And, what’s worse, the other customers were dividing up and starting to take sides. Purely along racial lines. We looked at each other and realized we were on the verge of a full-on race riot here.

We hustled the cashier away to a safe area and allowed the customer to leave without paying for her drink. If only I had known we could have threatened her with a big Federal fine.

If this was like a typical hospital cafeteria, the drinks are self serve, but within the register area. Not like a McDonalds where they give you a cup and the machine is within the dining area. I'm sure they over reacted, but I would bet that he thought he could get a free drink and was a a**hole about it.

Think about a typical cafeteria, you walk into the food service area, get a tray, pick up your entrée and fill a cup. You go to the register and pay. If you want to refill you have to go back into the food service area. I don't understand why he would think that is a free refill. And knowing the way a lot of people act towards service folks these days, I could imagine the customer making a scene.

But it will be worth the money because it will set an example to all serfs not to mess with the gov’t.

My guess is that Lewis is not black, or Obama would have probably spoken about this.

Lewis and his fiancé have contacted the Internal Affairs Office in Columbia. He says he will contest the fine in federal court.

“It’s about pretty much I guess you would say getting your face back. I want everybody to know that I made a simple mistake, that I’m not a thief, that I’m not dishonest. I’m trying to do the right thing.”

A refill, with ice, costs less than $.04 cents.

This is just plain abusive by a thug looking for relevancy in his life and validation for his purpose, at The expense of another person.

There is no reason, even if the guy was a d&*%k, for writing such an outrageous ticket.

Guy is a Jack wagon and a bully, who could use an attitude adjustment.

He’ll never get one. His boss won’t reprimand such stoopitity .

He’ll tell him “Good Boy” and maybe lighten up but, that won’t be feedback about him to properly do his job, as any reference will be. Referred to obliquely to an obtuse moron.

My apologies to morons.

“he tried to pay the $0.89 right there”
The fascist burocrats get perverse pleasure out of prosecuting people for non-crimes.

I know we live in a fascist dictatorship, but this angers me.

Did you know that merely posting the words “big government” and “sovereign nation” gets the feds to come crawling out of their snake hole?

He says he was taken to a room, given the $525 ticket for shoplifting and told not to return to the property.

"I'm done there, at the VA hospital. I'm not allowed to go on the premises anymore. I asked him can I still work on the job site and just bring my lunch and not got to the cafeteria and he said he wanted me off the premises."

There were 98,000 federal workers who owed Uncle Sam about $1 billion in 2010.

Shouldn't those federal workers be barred from federal property and jobs, too?

” I asked him can I still work on the job site and just bring my lunch and not got to the cafeteria and he said he wanted me off the premises.””

My read on this is the guy who did it is afraid to have the worker around. Once you’ve screwed somebody, especially if it was undeserved, you need to get them away from everybody else so they don’t talk. I’ve seen this in the working world before. Somebody who was set up for the fall so a higher-up didn’t take the blame, is escorted off the property, told not to return and then a restraining order is obtained. (Was the restraining order necessary? Probably not. But it serves as additional “justification” in and of itself.)

Doing it this way allows the higher-up to control the narrative.

There are two classes of citizens in this country; government workers and everybody else.

TV program there was a “Candid Microphone” radio program. Funt was in both.
= = = = = = = = = = = = =
Wasn’t (I don’t think??) aware of that.

However, still when a wallet or something ‘neat’ laying in full view, still cast a ‘furtive’ glance to survey the area.

Of course if someone were to ‘run up behind you’ and yell SMILE, would probably lose ‘control’. HA HA

Not to mention some subsidized housing and free healthcare.
