FR is a very rarefied place, unlike true Usenet forums where anything goes and there’s no one out there to rush in and save you.

There were a few politics forums I followed ardently in the 90s, because of one poster.

He was a wonderment, full of facts and utterly without fear.

I suppose I was a bit of a groupie but my lord, how that guy could incinerate his opponents with conservative wildfire.

Mr EDD would not last one nanosecond, out there in the perimeter.

The MAACO shop in town had a Rott “guard dog” who had no food, no water and no bedding during a bitter MD winter.

I happened upon him whilst waiting for hubby to get an estimate for a trike customer.
He came out and found me in the dog’s house, snuggling him to keep him warm.

I did wait until hubby was done haggling price before storming the building.

The owner didn’t understand how I got into the lot, let alone the dog’s kennel “alive”.

Pffft.

Dog loved me.

When we went back to pick up the paint job, the dog’s ragged fence had been made safe, his house had a heated pad and his bowls were full.

He seemed grateful. :)

There’s a much longer story involving my dad, a backwoods welder and his vicious pack of GSDs and myself, as a toddler.

;D

Too bad you can’t work the same magic on Congress, or at least the BLM....

Thank you Janet Reno.

The civilian populace of the United States are not enemy troops.
I have served in combat. No one in my unit valued any dog as much as his fellow Marines.

I am capable of comprehending that there is a difference.

You make it clear that to you there is no difference between an American citizen going about their daily life and an enemy soldier. Sadly there are very many of your ilk in law enforcement, which is why we have so many donutwatch threads on this forum.

You speak of the Pharasees. Is it your assertion that Christ values a dog the same as a human?

it seems that if someone sics a vicious dog on you, you have the right to defend yourself. If a citizen did that to you, they’d be in prison, isn’t that attempted murder

The cops do have some extra-normal powers.

If they are on the side of Truth, Justice and the American Way, then they shouldn't be getting into too much trouble.

Why elevate the status of police cruisers?

Both are tools.

A police cruiser or a dog is a tool, like a dairy farmer’s stud bull is a tool.
As a taxpayer, if some idiot is paying more for animals the precinct is buying than for a car then they need to go get themselves a new job yesterday.

German Shepherd are more trustworthy to their owners than I can say for most people. You obviously have no clue here.

This is not a pet. It is taxpayer property. A work animal, like a stud bull or draft horse.

Read through the thread regarding my dissaproval of dogs being employed for attacks given the unreliability of their ability to differentiate between a fleeing criminal and an ordinary citizen with a phobia of dogs.

America is not a war zone (yet.)

These animals have no more place being deployed where there may be
innocent bystanders than no knock raids have a place outside of hostage situations.

Am I cheering? No. No post I have made indicates that.

But I am no more displeased than if we lost a car, and attack dogs are a toy that needs to be removed from our irresponsible gendemari along with their
ninja face masks and their armored personnel carriers.

I take you will now join others in defending the militarization of law enforcement (which the dog in question is undeniably part of) No problem. I don’t need your help in opposing that.

No one, or I disputed that. You pulled that out of thin air.

BS...

They do have a place in law enforcement. For example they can find, smell out and locate violent suspects when the cops cannot. Public places included. In fact they can turn to an attack on a bad violent person while simply performing a search. In fact one just had it's jaw blown off in CA after locating an armed suspect.

Should they be used in all situations? Clearly not. However they can be extremely valuable in various ways. This is not even debatable.

Your comment about this dog being no more important than a used Ford cop car is bull sh*t and seems to portray your character as being icy, ignorant and possibly unstable.
