No, he tried to speak to her against dangerously being on the wrong side of the road. She was arrested when she attempted to flee.

Proper response: “Am I being charged with a criminal offense ? Am I being detained? Am I free to go?”

Looks like a small lane in a small development with no traffic. I hope he feels good about tackling this lady. This was a complete overreaction by the cop because he felt his “autoritah” was disrespected.

As I recall, Adam-12 was very realistic for its time. Perhaps new officers should be made to watch a season or two.You are so silly, citizen. Law enforcement's right to go home safely trump all that "outdated, Constitutional-rights mumbo jumbo". /eric holder

I’ve noticed that bald is fast becoming the new cop hair style.
Great. Just great. After all, it’s not like it’s meant to represent threat or intimidation, right?

In the teevee news report, the area looked like gravel paved residential, no traffic.
Police force is in full CYA mode.

For what is codified as a “misdemeanor”.
Badge-heavy LEO needs “reinstruction”.

Bonnette refused to stop and began jogging away from Johnson. He then got off the bike, tackled her and put her in handcuffs.
Ookla wanted to club pretty woman in head and take home but she no like his costume. Ookla upset so him use hand-lock thing big-boss give for such event. Ookla should have reward. People who no wear costume should obey Ookla. Ookla never wrong.

No, he tried to speak to her against dangerously being on the wrong side of the road. She was arrested when she attempted to flee. She was arrested for Contempt of Cop.
Good thing I'm not in his jurisdiction, or I'd also be subject to arrest.

Officer Safety says: “Every civilian is a potential criminal. All you have to do is use ‘resisting arrest’ on them, like this: BAM! Stop resisting! BAM! Stop resisting!”

I think she is a whiner.
<><><
After watching the video, I don’t disagree. But that doesn’t change anything, as being a whiner is not covered by Texas statutes.
According to the 2000 census, Whitehouse’s population is just north of 5,300.
Clearly they have too many police officers, if one is crusing around stopping people for walking the wrong way on a street in broad daylight.
