Pastor Hagee: Blood moons point to 'world-shaking event'
Houston Chronicle ^ | April 10, 2014 | Kolten Parkey

Posted on 04/11/2014 5:35:51 AM PDT by C19fan

Megachurch pastor John Hagee is warning his San Antonio congregation and international following of a “world-shaking event that will happen between April 2014 and October 2015.”

And, no, he's not talking about Fiesta.

Hagee, founder of the Cornerstone Church, points to “four blood moons,” a rare astronomical event of four consecutive and complete lunar eclipses, known as a tetrad, which begins April 15. The San Antonio pastor asserts the dates of the eclipses signify a major event that will change history in a book released in October, a series of sermons and a TV special airing on Tuesday, the first night of the tetrad.

Ya don’t say.

Acts 2:20 - The sun will turn to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Matthew 24:36

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

Matthew 24:24

24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Do a Bible study right now on the phrase “false prophets”.

Start here:

Please tell us what your conclusion is.

Then please tell us what happened to every other so-called man of God in the past who tried to predict events based on his own knowledge and observations.

Please tell us.

Blood Moon at Passover means that what ever is going to happen will hit Israel first. Blood means war and death. I would think its a WMD of some sort-—Bio-weapon or a Nuke. Next will be Europe and or USA. Might mean that Ukraine will blow up and become a major land war-—Russia vs Poland/NATO. What ever happens its a bad omen.

Blood moons is not a new idea. Hagee is just selling his book. He reminds me of the fat monk in The Canterbury Tales.

Genesis 1:14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,

“Seasons” as other translations use, in Hebrew, is “appointed times”. God was setting the stage for His commanded “feasts”. Messianic Rabbi Mark Biltz was the first (to my knowledge) to point out the Tetrad. He is the one that pointed out the earlier Tetrad’s based on NASA’s findings.

What is interesting is that the eclipses did not occur prior to the events of 1492, 1948 or 1967, but after. Just as the Star of Bethlehem did not appear to the Magi prior to the birth of Yeshua, but after the fact.

Matthew 2:1-12 1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:

6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.’[b]”

7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”

9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

It is my experience that Messianic Jews (Jewish people that have accepted Yeshua as their savior) have the deepest, most complete, understanding of the Bible and what God is saying/doing.

As far as Hagee, didn’t he teach replacement theology at one time?

>>I believe will center around Israel regaining full control over Jerusalem and the temple mound.<<

May be a shared arraignment based on scripture.

Zechariah 14:4 - And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south.

Not a problem. I put very little credence in anything Hagee says, but based on my own study of prophecy and today's world events, I believe the pages are turning as we speak in God's holy plan.

It is clear...based off of prophecy alone, not some preacher man, that satan’s false prophets are alive and well. They set out to deceive as many as they can.

Those whose hearts yearn for the Lord, yearn because God alone gave it to us through our commitment to the Son of God. It is our duty to help others see God's holy plan unfolding and to do it in a way that checks with scripture as we best understand it through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost.

What I do take issue with, Christians being SUPER critical of other Christians on points that are not considered the essentials of our faith. NO ONE has it completely right...not even you, nor I.

We study. We pray. We remain vigilant, then we pray some more.

I believe that God has, does and will provide signs in the heavens that precede major biblical events.

In the case of Hagee, if one sits back a moment and analyze his statements, they are partially true. Problem is that they are very vague and general.

A squirrel finds an acorn every now and again. Just be careful and check everything with scripture and the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

I think the pastor has astrology confused with Christianity.

That's what I thought, too. Does this mean he's given up preaching his prosperity gospel, or if you buy his book, will you be safe from this impending doom?

I’m pretty sure your scripture reference falls at the end of the tribulation period.

The problem is when pastors do this, particularly when they are well-known, is that when they are inevitably wrong, it repels the very people we have been commanded to make disciples of:

Matthew 28:19

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

These unsaved and those in the world point to guys like Hagee and say: “You believe this guy?!? Why would I want to be like that?”. It hurts our witness. Hagee’s prophecy will end up being skewered as a comedy spot on Jon Stewart, and will serve to harden the hearts of those who need most the gospel.

Better he simply preach the Word, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and help those in need. Believers should not be in the prediction business.

“Astrology” as currently understood, attempting to “know” the future for personal gain, is forbidden in scripture. This leads people of good intent to condemn anything that sounds like it, even though the Bible itself is filled with what are obvious astrological references, particularly in prophecy.

The birth of Jesus Christ was heralded by astrological signs, the Magi knew it, so did Herod who ordered the killing of all male infants to try to remove the threat to him, personally. Herod behaved in the manner forbidden by scripture. The Magi did not. Both observed signs, both arrived at the same conclusion. One was not forbidden, the other was. It’s very helpful to understand the distinction.

What is the meaning of this tetrad, these four “blood moons?” It seems foreboding to those who accept that there have been and will be signs in the stars, sun and moon as the Bible tells us. It also leads to all manner of wild speculation and erroneous prognostications, from the deluded and from those seeking personal gain. There it is again, personal gain.

I don’t pretend to know what it means, or if it means anything at all. I tend to look at a few “mundane” astrologers online, who know the methods of astrology as it was practiced historically, pertaining to the fate of nations and the world, heralding the arrival of kings or the departure of them. They don’t think it’s good, but are not in agreement about anything but that it pertains to Israel in connection with the United States.

Take that for what it’s worth. Very little, to be honest. They’ve been wrong as often as right in my observation. I just watch as we’re commanded to do, and that appears to be one source of potential understanding.

Scripture reference please ???

Isaiah 59

I am a singer-songwriter, psalmist. It is interesting that I was led to compose a song entitled “America, America” shortly after the towers fell on 9/11.

Another song, “Zion, the Redeemer Has Come,” which is Isaiah 59 was composed on the 10th anniversay of 9/11.

Pastor Hagee: Blood moons point to 'world-shaking event'

That's not sufficiently detailed enough to convince me to buy this idiot's book.

Just what will these "blood moons" do for the fishing?

Yeah. I wish some of these Christians would grow up. This type of wild-eyed, head swiveling, tongue hanging out hysteria does nothing but cry wolf and waste energy.

Jesus and the apostles made it plain, the end times will be a long wild ride, and it will not be fun. Best to take the long view and hunker down, not chase every little this or that which might be some kind of ‘sign’.

This “prophesy” illustrates what I’ve said about other dust ups about archaeological finds such as the “Jesus’ wife” currently announced. If there are profit motivated prophets today, why would anyone think there weren’t a lot two thousand years ago.

You're right. I believe Hagee is correct in his assumption that this heavenly sign is a precursor to a biblical event. Perhaps it is the way in which it has been delivered and or the messenger that folks have issue with.

Some will need even these things to finally turn and confess Jesus the messiah.

Prediction business? Even we are in the prediction business to some degree...would you not agree? Jesus is coming. Jesus will step foot on the mount of olives. The rapture will happen in a blink of an eye. There will be war and rumor of war. In the end times, good will be called evil and evil good.

Scripture is really all ya need. No one needs to predict anything, it is all spelled out in the bible. These are very exciting times. Only those who deny God should fear these times....problem is, they don't know it. How will they know it? Who will help them see the imminent time of the return of our messiah?

Prophecy has it's place.
