Yeah the snowpack in most of the mountains here is 150 - 200% above average. There is still some areas a little behind - the SW/S central mtns and SE Colorado (saw an article comparing the weather conditions in SE Colorado to Dust Bowl era).

I am up Coal Creek Canyon west of Denver at around 8,500 ft elevation. The highway got washed out about two miles down the canyon to the east. The contractors hired by the state to repair the washed out road did a really good job. The culverts where the creek crosses under the highway are HUGE now. HWY 72 is not quite as good as it used to be due to numerous cuts between remaining road and washouts that had to be rebuilt and repaved. The next repaving will take care of the cuts in the road. We may get 15 inches of snow from this one. Glad I have not made a pit stop for 4 summer tars!

LOL! Yeah. Can’t wait to see the next water bill since I cranked up the irrigation/sprinkler system yesterday. All to feed some stinkin’ little s.o.b. rabbits that think the grass they didn’t pay for is their own little buffet. And I’m in a “no fire” zone too. Dang it.
