About 6 feet is what some predicted.

Great story, thanks for the link.

Not related, but today at a gas station food mart I saw the clerk was reading “Kim.”

You’ve just given me a mental image of the Pacific Plate as a scab that’s about to be pulled off.

I was not trying to do that...lol

I do however respect the fact that we live on a still dangerous planet that has had many of what they call “basalt” extinction events in it's past...

Something to be aware of, but not something you can do squat about.

So I generally am still the same Boy Scout I was in the early 60s and like to be prepared for anything that comes my way..

More worried today about Obama....lol

Portland Oregon TV news interviewed a geologist today and asked the question of connectivity between recent quakes, Chile, Mt Hood, N. CA offshore. The geologists reply was seismology studies did not see any connection. My thought was well this wouldn’t be the first time scientists got something wrong.

I read the other day that for the past several decades (maybe a century) the Ring of Fire around the Pacific has been abnormally quiet. Maybe we are reverting to the normal behavior.

Yeah I know.....They said the same thing a couple years ago.

Everyone would like to be able to predict quakes, but there is so much information that you would need to do that and I don’t think they are even close. Even if you had everything, I think it would be difficult.

As for science, I give you the total refusal to look at the big yellow hot thing in the sky and then claim the planets weather is due to CO2 buildup..

Smart animals. They’re all on the right side of the road.

I met Redd Foxx when I was in my mid 20’s, and he told me NOT to listen to his albums because they had some dirty words in them!

I’m trying to think how much different hot ash and no water would be to where I am living right now - Saudi Arabia? It might even be an improvement.

That’s a fact. Anybody west of the Mississippi should pull up a chair, break out the good scotch, and toast teotwawki. I’m directly downwind, so to speak. I know we wouldn’t survive it.

“Yep. Everything west of the Mississppi and north of Texas would be a smoldering dumpster.”

That should wipe out most of the corn for alcohol and we could get rid of it in the gasoline!!!

Let it blow immediately!!!

Based on this, I see no reason to file taxes this year.

Where does the water come from? You think it simply emerges from the rock?

Yes, in my case. It's 700' of solid rock.

Water will no longer go where it used to go. Most of it will simply wash away. You will be fine for a season.

Maybe. Or maybe it will be there a lot longer.

But as I said to the other guy, how are you going to draw the water up? Where are you getting the power? Every line, above or below ground will be buried. Every generator or transformer will be buried or choked.

Every one? I kind of doubt it.

Nope, the generator in your garage will work until it runs out of power.

There are alternatives to electric pumps. Maybe you ought to do some research.

And I would recommend you do some research as well.

I have said repeatedly that this won’t happen in our lifetime. But I am also saying, if your mind cannot grasp the complete change that would come to as a result of such a change in the environment, then you could improve your preps.

The world changes quickly. Believing you are “bullet proof” has been the end of many a pioneer.

Thinking your water will always be there, because it always has been there is a dangerous way to think.
