Hm. Don’t take this the wrong way, but to put it most tactfully, your posts on many threads often contain hint-dropping about your knowledge of artists. So why shy from a discussion of how a piece of art can affect the same hearer differently in different contexts? You laid down a snap negative judgment and now don’t want me to clarify what was a really simple, surprisingly impactful experience of one piece of art for me at one moment in time.

Oh, please. Listen to music any way you want to. And interpret it any way you want to. But you started this mess by posting a vanity crying that Mr. Mick upset you by singing Under My Thumb right after his girlfriend committed suicide. Others, besides me, thought this was silly beyond belief.

I am now going to listen to my Sonny & Cher greatest hits album and cry over “I Got You, Babe.” That divorced bitch still sings it in concert and I get angry every time she does it.
