I just read that people are so dumb they misread it and have it sung at their weddings!

My band played a wedding once where the groom requested it. I stopped dead in my tracks and asked, "Really?!" He was pretty insistent on it so we played it. My singer couldn't help but camp it up a bit to emphasize the lyrics ;')

Unbelieveable! Doesn’t anyone pick up on the ominous tone of the instrumental role in the song? Forget the lyrics for a minute and listen to that music. It’s a superb song, I think.

By any chance, do you think he was sending a message to his bride?

Which Sting song are you referring to -- can't recall.

Your experience sounds like a wedding I went to where the first dance was to "Yesterday" by the Beatles -- "Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now it looks as though they're here to stay; oh, I believe in yesterday." We were peeing ourselves sniggering.
