“Brea just had a 4.5 aftershock..didn’t feel it but those in Whittier and Rowland Heights did”

I was visiting in Anaheim when that one hit. Walking outdoors- I felt a wave go under my feet and then a strong jolt shook everything. My friend’s dog doesn’t like these quakes at all- he cowers and tucks his tail under. I know what he means....

I have friends in Brea who got a lot of damage from the 5.1 last night- haven’t heard yet if today’s 4.5 in Brea did more damage.

I can’t remember another swarm of quakes like this. I’m getting very tired of them.

Been watching the news showing all the damage, its crazy..reminds me of how bad things looked after Northridge..I guess since we are further away even though we felt it we had no idea how much you guys have had to suffer..and all the aftershocks(Now over 100) I wouldn’t be able to sleep a wink if I had to go through that..luckily no one was hurt, its a reminder to us all that we live in Earthquake country..some people deal with tornadoes, some with hurricanes, we have the quakes

We had no internet access yesterday so this is late, but are your parents all right? Hope you’re all okay.

I see the quake was a 5.1. Listen, you aren’t whining, not to me at least. I don’t know that I could ever get used to those things. Just a few years ago we had a 5.8 quake here in central Virginia. We were about 100 miles west of the epicenter, but everything in the kitchen cabinets shook and rattled. That sound of the earth actually grinding together freaked me out. My sister-in-law and I thought Jesus was coming back, lol.

The Twenty Nine Palms/Big Bear shaker in the mid-nineties got my attention also.

Some friends were actually on the mountain at the time and saw a crack open up at least 18 inches wide.

They were stuck up there for several hours until the authorities deemed it save to drive down the mountain without rocks falling.

My parents are fine, they had only minor damage. Thanks for asking. Nerves out here are bit on edge due to all of the aftershocks and the fact that the largest quake was the second one- every time you sense another shock you wonder if it’s going to be even bigger. The last one was around 2:30 pm yesterday so maybe it’s done.

I remember that one. Shook hard enough to be felt in Orange County. Sure wouldn’t have liked being up on the mountain like your friends.

When my friends finally got back to OC they headed straight for the bar where they had - according to them - a couple of medicinal libations.
