Texas Demands a Picture ID AND My Social Security Number for a Fishing License?
Me

Posted on 03/28/2014 3:08:00 PM PDT by not2be4gotten.com

And my out of state address?

What about I just pay my $16 and get a piece of paper that has the state seal on it and a serial number?

What is the point of any of the rest of this?

What is the Social Security number used for?

If I lied about my Social Security number for my, oh, so, important fishing license, because I have an outstanding parking tickets in San Francisco and I don't want to be denied my fishing license, because I have already paid $100 to go fishing, am I potentially up on fraud charges?

And if I am committing fraud, how many years should I get?

This is increasingly happening everywhere as I have been exploring this great country over the last few years.

And I am a 30 year database expert and I have to tell you that collecting this information, over and over again, is potentially very bad news for the common citizenry.

There is not one thing about this transaction that was potentially beneficial to me, other than to not be arrested for fishing.

All this does is further empower whoever the current people with power are.

I am fishing with Captain Murphy out off of South Padre Island tomorrow morning.

What, do they require a retinal scan to go fishing in a blue state like Massachusetts?

At some point this has to stop.

It’s all the rage, led by those who ostensibly want a federal ID card for voting. The favored constituents behind state socialists are following that stampede to implement even more thorough ID efforts. Residents aren’t buying various things as much as bureacrats and government-linked businesses want them to buy now, so maybe they’ll take it with fees in the near future. One of my bosses of the past, involved in several regulatory “community” efforts, preached more than anything else, “Control the customer!”

Besides, the ID efforts are required to avoid side effects of moving hordes of slaves and traders between all kinds of nations.

Tell them you’re an illegal. No further questions asked.

Or give them the SS# that Obama is using.
Likewise, no questions asked.

This has been the case in Colorado for probably a decade. One of the reasons is to check for dead beat dads. I shit you not! And the guy at the fly shop says they have to ask the women too.

I agree with others...make a small ‘mistake’ and see what happens.

What they are REALLY looking for are fathers that owe child support. This is just another tool to force collection. If you do owe something, they could make a case that you are defrauding - if not (which I’m sure is the case), then it’s just an ‘honest mistake’. You will soon find out whether they are cross-checking names/numbers...

Input your SS number but off by one or two digits...you always chalk it up to stupidity if they bother you

That is what the Gypsy girls do when they break their legs, or something and end up in a hospital emergency room.

Works every time.

Probably because you’re actually being issued the license to utilize the roadways commercially. Most states are like that, and very few people realize it. While a pain in the ass to go through the process of demonstrating you aren’t required to have it, you can “travel” without possessing a “drivers license”.

seriously i bet they check against child support databases and will deny you a license if you are not current. they do this in other places.

To bad they don’t ask for this information when we vote....
*****************************
When I voted early this year in the TX primary, I went in with voter registration card and driver license. There were signs everywhere stating that photo ID was required.

They didn’t want my VRC, just my DL with the photo. I suppose the DL was matched against another database.

A little late on the response here.

I haven’t encountered the SSN request upon my purchase of a FL. What I have encountered is a request at a checkout line for my phone number. Each time I refuse to disclose this information. On a few occasions the clerk has told me they cannot complete the transaction without it.

I simply leave the items and walk out the store.

In New Jersey they require that you sign a statement that you don’t owe child support to obtain a hunting or fishing license. Maybe that’s the SS# purpose, to track down deadbeats.

Everywhere and in Everything, The State is rapidly closing in on the notion of individual liberty and eliminating it.

The frog in the slowly heated pot comes to mind.

In Twenty years, the sheeple will be completely tamed and The State will be all-powerful.

Personally, I’m glad I’m old and headed for the chute. It’s almost physically painful to watch this great land, the freedom of which was fought for at the cost of the lives, fortunes, and energies of generations of Americans, turned into a mindless Slave Plantation.
